Tendercrisp is a popular heirloom celery that produces flavourful heads of an extra-large size that keep well in the garden until late in the season. The plants grow dark-green stalks that measure about 12 inches at first joint and the mature plants reach about 3 feet tall.

Somewhat resistant to poorer soils and diseases, Tendercrisp is one of the easiest celeries to grow from seeds. The stalks and leaves have a traditional celery flavour and are tasty both raw and cooked. A truly versatile plant that can be harvested at any stage of growth.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Dense hearts of tall green stalks will reward the home gardener who accepts the challenge of growing this long season, cool weather vegetable. To get a head start on the season, celery seeds should be started 10-12 weeks before the last spring frost.

Spread seeds in flats, about 2 cm apart. You can firm the seeds into place, but there is no need to cover with soil. Celery seeds will require light to germinate, usually taking about 2-3 weeks. Set under lights for 16 hours/day and keep seeds moist by misting and/or bottom watering. Try to keep the ambient temperature an ideal 21°C.

When seedlings develop their second true leaf, either thin them out or transplant individuals into deeper pots. Prepare for transplanting by hardening off the young plants. Reduce watering a bit and expose gradually to the sun and outdoor elements. Cold weather can cause celery to bolt, so wait until night time lows stay above 4°C. Seedlings can be transplanted into the bed about 20-25 cm apart, water well.

Celery will thrive in cooler temperatures, rich soil and under full sun. Because of its shallow roots, mulch, thorough waterings and top dressing with fertilizer are good practices to enrich overall plant health.

Stalks can be tied together to keep from spreading. Practice blanching by covering or wrapping stalks with brown bag paper or cardboard. Do not cover the leaves. Sheltering from the sun will help prevent the development of bitter tasting stalks.

Celery can take up to 100 days to harvest. The whole bunch can be cut at once, but individual stalks can be continually picked throughout the fall until the last frost. Harvest stalks from the outside in when stalks reach 8 cm tall and enjoy a long season of celery's refreshing ribs.

QUICK FACTS

- Celery has been cultivated for its seeds and leaves since antiquity as an aromatic and medicinal plant. The Italians domesticated celery as a vegetable in the 1500s, resulting in selections with solid stems.

- Celery seeds will remain viable for 3 years if stored in a cool, dark place, ideally between 4 and 10⁰C. After that, the germination rate may start to go down.

Jacket is extremely large
Size: Medium, Color: Classic Light Wash
Runs big, the arms look and feel like they are from a MALE PATTERN AND STICK OUT LIKE IM A MALE BODYBUILDER. Back is very large , too much fabric… the entire jacket. It looked ridiculous on a woman.

Nice jacket but missing inner pockets
Size: X-Large, Color: Classic Light Wash, Size: X-Large, Color: Classic Light Wash
This denim jacket has a good color and design that's makes this noticeable when you do wear it. The shape is like any other denim that's out there and the size is true to fit. There front pockets with decent depth however there's no inner pocket which is a bummer as that's always a nice feature to have. It's not the softest material but it denim and will be durable.

I absolutely love this denim jacket—it’s become my new go-to layering piece for everything from casual errands to date nights! As a busy mom who needs clothes that can keep up with my day without sacrificing style, this one checks all the boxes. The medium-wash blue denim has that perfect lived-in feel right out of the box, with just the right amount of structure while still being soft and comfortable against the skin. The fit is fantastic—it’s cropped just enough to flatter without feeling too short, hitting right at the waist so it pairs beautifully with high-waisted jeans, leggings, or even flowy dresses. I love the classic button-front design and the chest pockets that add a touch of authentic detail without being bulky. The sleeves are nicely tailored too, with enough room to roll them up for a more relaxed vibe or wear them down for polish. It’s surprisingly versatile for all seasons: throw it over a basic tank or tee in warmer weather, or layer it over a cozy sweater when the evenings get cooler. What really stands out is the quality. The fabric feels sturdy and well-made, with reinforced stitching that makes me confident it’ll hold up through countless washes and wears. No fraying or fading after a few cycles so far, which is huge for something I reach for multiple times a week. It’s also got a nice subtle stretch that moves with you, making it ideal for long days chasing kids or sitting at a desk. I’ve styled it with everything from sneakers and mom jeans for school drop-off to boots and a cute top for church or a night out, and it always elevates the look without trying too hard. If you’re looking for a timeless denim jacket that feels fresh and modern, this is the one! It’s flattering on real bodies (curves and all), easy to care for, and instantly makes any outfit feel more put-together. I’ve already recommended it to several friends, and I can’t imagine my closet without it now.
