Campagnolo's activity began in 1933 in a small workshop in Vicenza. Its founder, Tullio Campagnolo, was a promising young Italian cyclist in the early 1920s. And it was precisely because of that why the sports-industrial adventure was born, becoming nowadays one of the biggest companies in the cycling industry. From a defeat due to adverse weather conditions on the Croce d'Aune Pass in the Dolomites, the first Campagnolo idea was born: a quick release for the wheel hubs which, together with subsequent improvements, would determine the development of the modern sports bicycle.
