Several tribes have used the seed as a tool to remove foreign objects from the eye. A tea from the roots is traditional among the Cahuilla women for healing and strength after childbirth.

Limited wild populations are under threat from poaching, climate change, and development. Our plants are propagated in house sustainably from a mother plant grown from ethically sourced seed. Evergreen perennial shrub that is native to SW. US, including Texas, though primarily Southern California scrub-land. AKA Californian white sage, bee sage, or sacred sage. Primarily used for burning as ceremonial "smudge sticks". Flowers attract varied pollinators including bumblebees, carpenter bees, Bombyliidae, and hummingbirds. Can be a tricky one to grow. Keep out of hot Texas sun in the summer months. We grow ours under 30% shade cloth.
