This near legendary onion is noted for its mildness. In the NW, it’s planted in fall, over-wintered, and harvested in spring. Please note that germination rates for alliums (onions/shallots/chives/leeks) decline rapidly. We strongly encourage you to purchase new seed each growing season.

PLANTING

Allium cepa

Germination: 5-10 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 60-75ºF.

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/4" deep

Sowing Indoors: Start 8-10 weeks before the last frost with soil temperatures 60-75ºF. Sow in flats 1/4” deep, 1/4” apart. Transplant seedlings out mid/late spring, 2-6” apart. Liquid fertilize seedlings every 7-10 days. Seedlings' size should be about pencil thick at transplanting time.

Sowing OutdoorsEarly to mid-spring when soil temperature reaches at least 55 ºF. Sow 1-3 seeds per inch, thin to 2-6” apart. The larger the bulb size, the more space.

How much does a packet plant: 15-30 foot single row

Harvest- Stop watering a week before harvesting. Pull out when necks soften and start to fall over. Cure them in the sun for a few days then finish drying them out of direct sunlight, in a warm area, and in single layer so air can circulate around them until the neck is dry. Store in a cool, dark place with 35-40ºF temperatures and 65-70% humidity.

Tips- The Walla Walla Onion Seeds Need fertile, well drained soil. Amend with compost or apply organic granular fertilizer. Adequate water is very important for optimum growth, 1" per week.

Pillow cases are beautiful and soft, great quality. I had to return them because standard were too small. I am going to order queen instead.

Cool, soft - easy wash instructions
Color: Ivory, Size: King (20'' x 36'')
Truly cooling, soft and a fabric that makes my pillow huggable. I’ve used regular washing instructions and drying. It’s only getting softer!

Super soft and cooling
Color: Ivory, Size: Queen (20'' x 30'')
These pillowcases are excellent. They are super soft, smooth, and very comfortable to sleep on. They fit my queen-size pillows perfectly and are true to size. I also really like the cooling feel — they stay comfortable throughout the night and feel much cooler than regular cotton pillowcases. The envelope closure is a nice touch and keeps the pillows looking neat. Overall, I’m very happy with them and would definitely recommend them.

Silky smooth
Color: Charcoal, Size: Standard (20'' x 26'')
These pillow cases are great. They’re soft and cooling. They stick to your face a little if your hair is damp but that’s about it.

Bamboo Pillow Cases
Color: Moonlight Gray, Size: Queen (20'' x 30'')
The sleep quality of these pillows are so awesome. They stay cold and I love it! They are not too thick and easy to put slip on the pillow. It’s also a plus that they look nicer than regular pillows cases!
