Epipremnum aureum ‘Jade’, commonly known as Jade Pothos or Green Pothos, is a classic, evergreen trailing plant from the Araceae family. Native to the Solomon Islands, this cultivar is one of the most reliable and easy-going members of the pothos group, prized for its uniform, deep green foliage.

Unlike highly variegated types such as ‘Marble Queen’ or ‘Golden Pothos’, the Jade variety has solid, glossy green heart-shaped leaves. This simplicity gives it a lush, jungle-like aesthetic, perfect for creating a dense, trailing display. Its minimalist look also makes it especially versatile, complementing both modern and traditional interiors.

As a trailing or climbing vine, Epipremnum Jade is ideal for hanging baskets, shelves, or training on a moss pole or trellis. With proper care, its vines can reach several metres indoors, offering an abundance of leafy greenery.

Epipremnum aureum ‘Jade’ – Care Guide

Light

Tolerates a wide range of light conditions, from bright, indirect light to low light. Stronger light encourages faster growth, while lower light slows it down but does not affect the solid green colour. Avoid harsh direct sun, which may scorch the leaves.

Watering

Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep soil lightly moist in spring and summer, but never waterlogged. In winter, reduce watering slightly. Overwatering can cause root rot, while underwatering may result in drooping leaves.

Temperature and Humidity

  • Temperature: Best in 18–26°C. Protect from draughts and avoid prolonged exposure below 12°C.

  • Humidity: Adaptable to average household humidity, but will thrive with moderate to high humidity.

Soil and Potting

Use a free-draining, peat-free houseplant compost mixed with perlite or orchid bark. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the mix and give roots more room.

Feeding

Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser. No feeding required in winter.

Pruning and Training

Prune stems to control length and encourage bushier growth. The plant can be trained vertically on a moss pole or trellis, or left to trail freely. Cuttings propagate easily in water, soil, or moss.

Growth and Maturity

A vigorous grower under good conditions, capable of producing vines several metres long. Indoors, it retains its neat heart-shaped green foliage throughout the year.

Common Issues

  • Yellowing leaves: Usually from overwatering.

  • Drooping leaves: A sign of underwatering.

  • Leggy growth: Indicates the plant needs more light.

  • Pests: Occasionally mealybugs, thrips, or spider mites.

Background and Benefits

Often considered the “original” pothos, Epipremnum Jade has been a favourite indoor plant for generations. Its lush, solid-green leaves symbolise simplicity and vitality. Like other pothos cultivars, it also helps improve air quality, making it both decorative and functional.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5
