- When the fruit starts to ripen, the skin will start to turn yellow or orange, and you can pick the fruit when 1/10 to 1/3 of the skin has changed color. The fruit will be sweeter the longer you allow it to ripen. Keep the papaya at room temperature to allow it to fully ripen and change color. Ripe fruit will keep in the refrigerator for four to seven days.
- Water the plants regularly to keep the soil moist. The frequency depends on the weather and soil type. Sandy soils should be watered every one to two days in hot weather, while loam soil only needs water every three to four days.
- Add a 2- to 6-inch layer of mulch, keeping it 8 to 12 inches from the trunk of the papaya to help retain soil moisture and control weeds.
- The Red Lady papaya plant grows in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 9 to 11.

Say hi to Daisy- a13 week year old pit. She absolutely loves the toys! She was using another chew toy and DESTROYED it so I needed a quick replacement. They’re very durable; however, she chipped one of the bones so I don’t anticipate it having TOO long of a life. For the price, it’s great and I recommend for any chewers you might have.

From Puppy Teething to Adult Favorite – 7 Years Later

This has been one of the best toys I’ve ever bought! My dog has loved the Pupstages Cool Teething Stick since she was a tiny puppy, and now at 7 years old, it’s still one of her absolute favorites. It’s been amazing for soothing teething when she was little, and now she still enjoys chewing on it and carrying it around.
It’s held up surprisingly well over the years, especially considering how much use it’s gotten. I also love that you can cool it for extra relief—it really helped during those puppy stages.
If you’re looking for a toy that lasts and actually becomes a long-term favorite, this is definitely it. Highly recommend for both puppies and even older dogs who still love a good chew! 🐶
