This Aloe 'Hercules' is little fella now, but has a bright future ahead of it as a sculptural statement plant in the garden or as a focal specimen in a decorative container. Fully rooted in a 3.5" pot, this hybrid of two popular tree aloe species and has shown itself to be a standout tree-form aloe on its own.
Aloe 'Hercules' is a fast-growing aloe, developing a strong trunk with thick branches and peeling bark. The plant features thick, long, toothed silvery dark green leaves that taper to a point. When the plant is younger, before it begins to branch out, the leaves grow in tight upright rosette fashion around the stem. After many years, it blooms tubular salmon-pink hummingbird magnets tipped in green. As it matures, the stem gains more and more prominence and the leaves appear more as a crown of striking, strappy foliage. We recommend fertilizing the plant every couple of months during spring and summer to encourage growth.
This Aloe may be on the smaller side now, but it has a bright future ahead of it as a sculptural statement plant in the garden or as a focal specimen in a decorative container. If planted in the ground, it carries the potential to tower up to 40 feet tall and 20 feet wide.
