Anthurium clarinervium

Anthurium clarinervium has thick, heart-shaped leaves with pale vein outlines. The leaf surface is matte to slightly velvety, and the blades feel firm and thick. It forms a low crown, with new leaves coming from the centre of the plant.

It comes from Chiapas, Mexico, where it grows around limestone outcrops and can root among rocks in thin, well-drained soils. In a pot, the roots do best with structure, air and warmth, along with regular watering.

Mature leaves usually stay compact, around 11–25.5 cm long. Established plants can send up Anthurium spathes and spadices; indoors, the thick veined leaves are usually more noticeable than the flowers.

Leaves, veins and growth habit

  • Growth habit: Compact, crown-forming Anthurium.
  • Petioles: Round petioles rise from the crown and carry the thick heart-shaped leaves without a climbing stem.
  • Leaves: Thick, heart-shaped blades with deep basal lobes.
  • Mature size: Mature leaves usually stay around 11–25.5 cm long.
  • Texture: Matte dark green surface with a firm feel.
  • Venation: Pale white to greenish-white vein outlines across the blade.

Anthurium clarinervium root-zone care

  • Light: Give it bright, filtered light.
  • Watering: Let the upper part of the mix dry before watering again.
  • Moisture balance: Let air return to the mix between waterings, but water before the plant dries hard.
  • Substrate: Use a coarse, well-draining mix with bark and pumice or perlite.
  • Temperature: Keep warm, ideally between 18–28 °C.
  • Root zone: Warm roots and a structured mix support steady growth between waterings.
  • Humidity: Moderate to high humidity helps new leaves expand cleanly.
  • Airflow: Gentle airflow helps the crown and substrate dry evenly.
  • Feeding: Feed lightly and flush the mix occasionally if salts build up.
  • Repotting: Repot before the mix becomes compacted or stale.

Leaf and root issues

  • Yellowing leaves: Often indicates dense, wet substrate or cold roots.
  • Brown margins: Can follow dry air, irregular watering or salt buildup.
  • Pale or marked patches: Often develop after exposure to direct sun.
  • Distorted new leaves: Check for pests or unstable conditions during leaf expansion.
  • Soft base or sour-smelling mix: Inspect the roots straight away.

Plant safety

Keep Anthurium clarinervium away from pets and children. Plant material contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth and throat if ingested, and sap may irritate skin or eyes.

Why it is called Anthurium clarinervium

The genus Anthurium refers to the flower and its tail-like spadix. The epithet clarinervium means “clearly veined”, matching the pale vein pattern on the leaves.

I really like these I would buy again
Color: 6pcs, Color: 6pcs
I’m honestly so impressed with these dermaplane razors! They came in a cute little storage bag, which I love because it keeps everything clean and organized instead of just tossing them in a drawer. The variety in sizes is also a huge plus—it makes it easy to use around different areas of your face, especially eyebrows and smaller spots where you need more precision. The blades feel gentle on the skin but still get the job done, removing peach fuzz and leaving my face feeling super smooth. I’ve used a few different brands before, and these are definitely a great value for the price. Perfect for at-home touch-ups without irritation.

Smooth Skin Made Easy! ✨
Color: 6pcs, Color: 6pcs
These dermaplane razors are a game-changer (per my wife) when it comes to at-home facial care. This pack of six razors works wonders on peach fuzz, eyebrow grooming, and exfoliating your face. The blades are sharp enough to get a clean, close shave but still gentle on the skin, making it great for beginners or anyone with sensitive skin. Plus, the ergonomic handle makes them easy to control, which helps with precision when shaping your brows. Compared to other dermaplane tools she's tried, these are definitely better quality and last longer before getting dull. Some cheaper ones she's used before start snagging or feel rough after just a couple of uses, but these stay sharp longer and glide smoothly across the skin. One minor downside is that the cap can be a little loose, so be careful when storing them to avoid accidental nicks. Overall, if you're looking for a convenient way to keep your face fuzz-free and smooth without salon prices, these razors are a great buy. You'll definitely notice the difference in your skin texture and makeup application after using them.

Sharp but safe
Color: 6pcs, Color: 6pcs
Sharp, safe and effective razors. 2 different sizes but I have only used the smaller ones so far on eyebrows and upper lip. The handles are plastic but easy to grip and have a firm grasp. Close cut and it left my skin feeling soft. Great that there are 6 in the pack, these should last a while.

Works great
Color: 6pcs, Color: 6pcs
I'm 42,as I have been getting older,I have gotten a lot more peach fuzz in the face. I just started dermaplaning about 5 years ago,off and on. I have tried so many of the little electronic ones, only for the batteries to die fast or not work at all, they would stop working right away or break very easily. Some of them didn't work how I wanted them to work and I'd have to keep going back over and over my face just to get a good shave. I love these ones, they're cheap to start with, and it comes with 6 ,there's 4 bigger ones and 2 that are a tiny bit smaller,so you can use the smaller ones for smaller spaces, say above the lip, whereas the longer ones are better for longer swipes like on the cheeks. Another thing I love that other ones don't always have (the electric ones always have lid covers but the manual ones iver gotten haven't) ,these ones all have lids that fit nice and snug on top, that way you don't accident cut your fingers or hands when taking them out. It also comes with a nice little plastic carrying case which I live also because my other single ones always end up at the bottom of my drawers and I have to dig for them, with the case, they're all together and no need to search for them as you can't miss the case. Now how they work, it is easy to use, glides right across the facial areas with no problems. They're sharp(I believe it said Japanese stainless steel?) Makes it easy to glide across the face and not need to go over again so many times like you do with some others,if there's still a bit of fuzz left, go over it again, but I promise you'll go over your face a lot less times than some others. Make sure you have put on so.e type of moisturizer before using these, never dermaplane on dry skin. I'm glad I got these, will keep buying from now on!
