Golden Bantam 8-row is an open-pollinated variety bred in the 1890's by William Chambers and introduced by W. Altee Burpee in 1902.  Its small 5-inch ears were originally selected to fit neatly into a side plate at the roadside inns where Chambers sold his produce.  Upon introduction by Burpee, Golden Bantam skyrocketed in popularity, earning a place for "sugar" corn on the American dinner table.  It remained the most popular variety for nearly 30 years.  Compact 5-foot-tall plants consistently produce two ears.  Not as sweet as the super sugary hybrids today, but still delicious, especially when harvested at its peak (21 days after pollination).  80 days to harvest.  Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.

Decent firm pillow

I've been using the shredded foam pillow since January. At first it was too packed/firm, so I had to remove some of the stuffing from mine. When fully full, it is a chore to get it in/out of our standard pillow cases. Over time, the pillow has developed a divot from where my head rests the most, so I'll need to fully remove/fluff/reinsert the foam to get it back into shape. Overall, I find the comfort of this pillow just okay. It absorbs your head heat even in the winter, so if you prefer a cool pillow, I don't recommend it. It does seem to be a good quality pillow otherwise. I expect I'll be able to use this one for a few years without it falling apart. It doesn't smell bad either. My husband really likes the pillow, but I've also seen him sleep comfortably on very old pillows that have turned into pancakes... so do with that information what you will.
