Xerosicyos danguyi, also known as the silver dollar plant or Madagascar tree bean, is a succulent species native to Madagascar; it is known for its unusual appearance and drought tolerance.

The silver dollar plant grows as a succulent climbing shrub with bare, stalked shoots that can reach up to 3 metres in length. The leaves are thick, fleshy, round and silvery blue in colour. They resemble coins or beans and can be about 4-6 cm in diameter. The leaf stalks are long and slender.

The plant forms yellow, bell-shaped flowers with a diameter of about 1.5 cm. The flowers are unisexual and can be male or female. The fruits are also round and silvery blue in colour, similar to the leaves, and contain several seeds.

Xerosicyos danguyi is adapted to the dry environmental conditions of Madagascar and can store water in its thick leaves to survive dry periods. It prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils and is known for its adaptability to barren and dry habitats.

Due to its unusual appearance and drought tolerance, Xerosicyos danguyi is often cultivated as an ornamental plant in succulent gardens and as a houseplant.
