The Castle Creations Mamba Monster X 8S 1/6 ESC/Motor Combo with 1717 Sensored Motor is an incredible combo developed specifically for high voltage large scale applications. The MAMBA MONSTER X 8S ESC utilizes Castle’s proprietary CRYO-DRIVE technology helping to reduce the heat generated, and remove heat more efficiently. These software advancements work in parallel with a unique open housing design to allow increased directional airflow to cool critical components. With the integration of a 40mm cooling fan and a forged elliptical fin heatsink, the design maximizes airflow throughout the system, taking thermal performance to a level never seen before.
Mamba Monster X 8S is a workhorse that will dominate in the harshest of environments. Designed with durability in mind, this ESC features a robust aluminum case, combined with epoxy potting helps to guarantee protection around the circuitry, as well as allowing all-weather use. You can easily optimize the ESC for any driving condition - rugged terrain, smooth pavement, or rock and gravel, the MMX8S can handle it all. Plus, the Castle Link Programming Suite will allow the user to create, save and download setup profiles using a Windows™ PC, or wirelessly with the convenience of the B-Link™ Bluetooth™ Adapter and Castle Link app for Android or iOS. The MMX8S also allows tuning on-the-fly via the Auxiliary wire, allowing access to programming parameters such as Torque Control, Max Brake or Rock Race Mode, further optimizing your vehicle for any racing or bashing application you can imagine!
When paired with the included Castle 1717-1650KV sensored motor, heavy, high speed rigs will experience controllable low-end control without sacrificing power, punch or speed. This motor is a blast from the past with the added benefit of sensored capabilities! It is the perfect upgrade for any 1/6th scale vehicles weighing up to 20 lbs and running up to 8s LiPo; it is also a great upgrade for drivers looking for a reliable, high torque 8s motor for their 1/8th scale vehicles! The Castle 1717 1650KV sensored motor features an improved 4-POLE 12-SLOT design that boasts exceptional EFFICIENCY and produces LESS HEAT. SmartSense™ mode uses the motor’s sensors to start the motor to provide smooth starts, excellent torque, and low-speed drivability. Once the motor is spinning, it seamlessly transitions to Castle’s ultra-efficient sensorless mode. You’ll put more power to the ground, where it should be, instead of wasting it through raw heat and RPMs.

ESC Product Use Statements:
- Recommended battery capacity for 1:6th scale vehicles is 5000mah. We recommend using 50C continuous discharge or higher LiPo batteries.
- Surge ratings should never be used to determine a pack’s suitability for a brushless application.
- Castle recommends a high current connector designed for high-powered electric systems, rated for 120+ amps, such as Castle CC Bullet 6.5mm, CC Bullet 8.0mm, or 6.5mm Polarized Castle Connectors.
- Applying voltages higher than 33.6V will cause irreparable damage to ESC.
- Although Mamba Monster X 8S is waterproof, it is not intended for operation while completely submerged in liquid. Always rinse the ESC with clean water after exposure to corrosives or dirt.
- The ESC cooling fan must be removed prior to driving in wet conditions. It is not waterproof.
Tech Notes:
- This motor includes 10AWG wire and 6.5mm connectors for use specifically this ESC/Motor combo.
- Running modes: SMARTSENSE™, Sensored, Sensorless with Castle sensored capable ESCs.
- Water Resistant Design: The sensor board is coated with silicone conformal coating to protect the sensors from moisture. The sensor connections are not water resistant; water can cause signal loss which could result in loss of sensored capabilities. Castle recommended applying dielectric grease to the outside of the sensor wire connections after installation of the wire. Routine maintenance is recommended after running in wet conditions. Please refer to this document for running and maintaining motors in wet environments.
