Regal, Shield-Like Leaves with a Purple Glow

Alocasia ‘Regal Shields’ is a hybrid elephant ear that lives up to its royal name. Massive, shield-shaped leaves unfurl a deep, velvety green on top with a subtle purple cast, while the undersides glow in rich plum tones traced by bright green veins.

Held on sturdy, upright stems, each leaf reads like a living piece of art. Whether you tuck it into a bright corner indoors or spotlight it on a shaded patio, Regal Shield instantly creates a lush, tropical vibe with minimal effort beyond the basics.

Upright, Architectural, and Container-Friendly

‘Regal Shields’ was bred to be compact and strong compared to older elephant ear types, with thick, durable leaves and a tidy, upright habit.

In containers, plants typically reach about 3–4 feet tall and 2–3 feet wide at maturity, with younger plants staying in the 18–30 inch range.

As the plant ages, it develops a short, trunk-like base that lifts the foliage higher, giving it a dramatic, architectural presence. This scale is perfect for large floor pots indoors, flanking entryways, or anchoring patio groupings where you want height, texture, and mood in one plant.

Thrives in Bright Indirect Light, Even Moisture, and Humidity

Alocasia Regal Shield thrives in bright, indirect light—think near an east-facing window, a few feet back from a bright south- or west-facing window, or on a patio with morning sun and afternoon shade. Direct, harsh sun can scorch the leaves, while very low light leads to stretching and smaller foliage.

Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy by watering when the top inch or so feels dry, then allowing excess water to drain away. Regal Shield also appreciates higher humidity, especially indoors. Grouping plants, adding a pebble tray, or running a small humidifier nearby will help keep leaves looking their best. In cooler months, the plant may slow down or partially die back as it enters a light dormancy.

Statement Plant Indoors and Out

In the landscape, Regal Shield shines in containers. Outdoors in warm weather, use it as a focal point on shaded patios, porches, or pool decks, where its dark leaves contrast beautifully with lighter companions. In frost-free zones (roughly USDA 9–11), it can also be planted in the ground in rich, well-drained soil with dappled light.

Indoors, it’s a natural statement plant for living rooms, foyers, and bright bathrooms—anywhere you want height and drama without committing to a tree. Pair it with trailing pothos, ferns, or lighter green foliage to highlight its moody, jewel-tone leaves, or let a single plant command the spotlight in a large, simple pot.

Great no-frills Bluetooth wireless headphones
Color: Blue
I did not read the description carefully. It states what devices these headphones are compatible with and "desktop computer" is not one of them. I called Sony and they told me they will work with almost any modern device that has Bluetooth connectivity. I easily wirelessly connected them to my desktop computer and they work great. Strangely the user guide gives instructions on how to use them with Mac and Windows computers, so read the user guide/manual that is linked in the description. If you want to use any of the functions of the Sony Headphones Connect app you will need a compatible phone. If you do not use the app (not compatible with computers) they function as a basic pair of wireless headphones. All rather confusing and the Amazon description does nothing to clear it up. With that being said I connected it easily to my desktop computer. I am no audiophile and do not need a $400 pair of headphones. To me they sound great especially for the inexpensive price. They are NOT noise cancelling headphones and I did not want noise cancelling. They are "on the ear" headphones meaning they are about the size of your ear and press your ears against your head creating a bit of a seal keeping some exterior noise out. Works fine, but if you wear eyeglasses and wear the glasses and the headphones at the same time after a few hours it can become uncomfortable as the headphones press your ear against the arm of the glasses and the arm of the glasses into the side of your head. The charging port on the headphones is USB C and they come with a USB A to USB C cable but no charging brick. I connected mine to my computer with a USB C to USB C cable and it charged fine. 50 hours of playtime on one charge is great. One star for a confusing and unclear Amazon description. 4 stars for a good basic pair of headphones that works with almost any modern Bluetooth device, albeit without the functions of the Sony app (unless you are using it with a compatible phone).

Lightweight, great sound and beautiful color.
Color: Cappuccino
I absolutely love these headphones. The color is great, they're lightweight, feel great on my ears and head. They're great quality and love that they twist down when testing then on my neck so they're not hitting my face. I would recommend this product!

Good sound
Color: Cappuccino
Not super noise canceling but good quality charge last a very long time. Controls on the ear piece are a bit awkward to use.

Perfect for me!
Color: Black
Slim/lightweight. Comfortable fit. Good charge. Though my volume was on a 4 or 5 and when I took the headphones off I could hear my music a little. You can’t fold to close them like other styles but I can rotate the earmuffs to make them fit in my bag. Definitely a solid pair of wireless headphones for a good price!

Good for quick music sessions, but disappointing for calls and comfort
Color: Black
Here are two updated versions of your review that incorporate the new details about quality, value, controls, and noise cancellation. Option 1: The "Pros & Cons" Breakdown (Highly Scannable) Headline: Great Battery and Sound, but Lacks Comfort and Effective Noise Isolation I’ve had a chance to test these thoroughly, and here is how they break down based on the key features: Quality & Controls: The build quality is good, and the controls are intuitive and easy to use. Battery: Excellent. It lasts a very long time on a single charge. Sound & Music: Very good for music listening, though the noise canceling is very bad. You will hear most of what is going on around you. Comfort: Not for long-term use. After a while, they cause noticeable pain on the ears. Call Quality: Quite bad. If you are doing any work or moving around, the person on the other end will be bothered by the background noise. Value for Money: Average. While the battery and music are highlights, the lack of comfort and poor mic quality make the price feel only "okay." Option 2: The Narrative Review (Best for Amazon's Algorithm) Headline: Good for quick music sessions, but disappointing for calls and comfort The Sony WH-CH520 is a solid device in terms of build quality and controls, and the battery life is truly impressive. If you just need a pair of headphones for short music sessions, these sound great. However, I found the value for money to be average due to a few major flaws. First, the comfort is lacking; they start to hurt my ears after wearing them for a short while. Second, the noise canceling is very poor—don't expect these to block out your environment. Finally, I do not recommend these for phone calls. The mic picks up way too much ambient noise, which makes it frustrating for the person you are talking to. Great for the battery and buttons, but not ideal for an all-day office or travel headset
