Origin: Although the name 'Florida Beauty' may suggest a specific origin, this philodendron is a cultivated hybrid, created for the appeal of its variegated foliage. It is derived from crosses made to capture and accentuate the natural beauty of philodendrons in an aesthetically enhanced format.

Growing: Philodendron 'Florida Beauty' is a climbing plant that can reach a substantial size with the proper support, such as a stake or trellis. The leaves are large, lobed and serrated, with a cream, white or yellow variegation that contrasts sharply with the basic dark green.

Flowers: Like many philodendrons, 'Florida Beauty' can produce spathe-type flowers, typical of aroids, but flowering is rare in indoor cultivation and often considered secondary to the spectacular foliage.

Light: This plant prefers bright, indirect light to maintain the vibrancy of its variegation without causing burns. Insufficient light can result in reduced variegated areas and greener foliage.

Watering: Water regularly, allowing the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid overmoistening which can lead to root rot. Consistency is key to keeping this plant healthy.

Substrate: Use a well-draining potting mix suitable for philodendrons. The substrate should include coconut fiber, bark of various sizes, pumice, perlite, and charcoal to promote good drainage while retaining sufficient moisture.

Toxicity: Philodendron 'Florida Beauty' contains calcium oxalate crystals, making it toxic if ingested. It is therefore important to place it out of reach of children and pets.

Quality Faux Fur Throw

This blanket is nice and soft. It's an off-white color with one side being faux fur and the other being smooth. It is packaged tight but once unfolded it fluffs out nicely. I have another blanket made by this company and those blankets wash well, although I haven't had this one in the wash just yet. I tend to let the other faux fur blankets I have air dry and that usually works fine. I would caution against high heat on these. Ideally if you follow the cleaning instructions you should be fine though. The cost is on par with most box stores, decent value for what it is. It isn't super heavy and makes a nice throw for various scenarios. It does have a false leather patch on the front side which I am not a huge fan of. That sort of takes away from the authentic fur feel, but it isn't a huge drawback. I show that in one of my photos. Feels nice and cozy and would make a nice book nook blanket or chair covering. No chemical smells or anything like that. Overall very pleased with the product and I definitely recommend this brand from this and prior purchases.
