Kakai Styrian Pumpkin — The Austrian Heirloom With Hull-Less, Oil-Rich Seeds Made for Roasting

The Kakai Styrian Pumpkin is unlike any other pumpkin you’ve grown. Developed in the province of Styria in Austria, this unique cultivar produces large, striking fruits — green ripening to striped orange-green — whose seeds have a thin membrane instead of a hard shell, making the entire seed fully edible without hulling. The seeds are high in oil and exceptionally delicious eaten roasted or raw, with a rich, nutty flavor that makes them a gourmet snack and a prized ingredient in Styrian pumpkin seed oil.

The plant itself is problem-free, fast-growing, and a prolific producer. The flesh is thin, bright yellow, coarse-textured, and tasty — a dual-purpose pumpkin for seeds and eating. 90 days.

Why Grow Kakai Styrian Pumpkin?

  • Hull-less seeds — thin membrane instead of a shell, fully edible without hulling
  • High-oil, gourmet roasting seeds — rich, nutty flavor raw or roasted
  • Austrian heritage variety — developed in Styria, Austria, prized for pumpkin seed oil
  • Prolific & problem-free — fast-growing, heavy producer of large fruits
  • Dual purpose — harvest seeds for eating and flesh for cooking
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year

Growing Notes

Direct sow outdoors after last frost when soil has warmed to at least 65°F. Prepare hills with compost or aged manure. Sow 3–4 seeds per hill, thinning to 2–3 strongest seedlings. For rows, space plants 3 feet apart. Keep weeded and watered consistently. Harvest at maturity when fruits turn from green to striped orange-green, or just after first frost. To save seeds: cut open, scoop seeds onto a screen, and work free of pulp by hand (avoid water). Spread on paper plates to dry, stirring several times daily. Store in paper bags.

Love the crazy giggle
Size: 12"
Entertaining toy for my husky but he's so rough and tough that he torn the cover off and manages to turn the giggle sound off. He really enjoys it still though.

My guy loves the duck. At first the "different" sound put him off a bit but soon he was throwing his new toy all over the house. The reason I gave 4 stars is because my 8 lb. pup managed to undo the ducks braided legs and now they are nothing but a bunch of strings hanging from its body. Other than that he enjoys this toy immensely.

My dog LOVES this toy! It's very durable as he loves to throw it around. It was bigger than I expected, but my little shih Tzu still loves it.

Cute and well made, fun toy for dogs of all sizes.
Color: Frog (Green)
My small dogs luv this toy, especially the handle part for playing tug of war. My peekapoo is only 14 lbs. but he loves to get a grip on the handle with his mouth and tug really hard which also stretches the body and makes the crunchy noises! My chihuahua loves it too and she tries to grab the eyes with her mouth. It is a very well made toy with a squeaker and light stuffing in the head which makes me feel good about letting them play with it. It is strong and very cute and I think they will have it for a long time.

Octopus dog toy
My dogs love this toy! They love to play tug of war with it, using the rope legs. The legs will pull out if they are strong dogs! But if the dogs are having fun with it, it isn't a problem. One of my dogs has shredded some of the legs and put a hole in yhe body, but she is a strong chewer. There is a squeaker in the octopus body. They enjoy the toy, so I would recommend it.
