Most economic way of growing dahlias is to start them from seed!

Excellent cut flower over a long bloom time. If timing and your region allows they can bloom from July through to falls first frost.

This mix will produce 3"-5" double, semi-double and single blooms. The color mix includes bi-color and solids in red, lavender, white, coral, yellow and salmon.

***Important information to know about dahlias. With Dahlias being Octoploids growing them from seed is always somewhat of a mystery. Every seed will have its own unique flowers that do not already exist.

Growing: starting the seed indoors (recommended) up to 4-6 weeks before your regions last frost date. Cover seed with growing medium and keep moist until germination approximately 3-5 days under optimal conditions. Requires soil temperatures of 65°-70°. Do not start too early as root bound plants will have trouble during transition. Root disturbance can impact plant health. Harden off plants before transplanting outdoors.

Direct seeding can be done once all danger of frost has passed and soil temps have warmed to at least 65°. If this method is chosen you may get later blooms than if started indoors/transplanted. From seed to maturity is around 90 days. Plants will produce tubers which can be dug and saved to plant out again the following spring. In fall once plants have started to die back but before any major frost cut plants stems back to about 2" above soil line. Gently dig up tubers and remove as much soil as possible. Before final winter storage let them dry out up to 4 days in a warm location without direct sunlight and sufficient airflow. There are a few different storage methods. It is best to look this up to gain knowledge and determine your preferred method.

Plant height 40"-60" Spacing 9"-12"

Great Experience !
Format: Hardcover
Received this book as it was described - in new condition! I ordered the book the American way (at the last moment and OMG I need this tomorrow for a gift mode - LOL) and this seller was sooooooo accomodating. Before he had written consent that I would pay extra for postage, he had mailed it. Of course i paid a little extra - well worth it- thank you sooooo much! The book was a huge surprise for the person I gifted it to and so thank you again for allowing me to give it to her on her special day! I would do business with them again! Own This Book Along With A Visit To The Museum
Format: Hardcover
This book tells the story of the founding and exhibits of the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. This book does not replace visits to the Museum. It is an excellent reference book to have in combination with visits to the Museum. The Holocaust Museum is one of the finest Museums in Washington, DC. The history told at the Museum is powerful in so many ways. My hope is that humanity can learn from history not to keep repeating the many horrific mistakes that were made during the period of Hitler and Stalin. We must always remember that most of the terrible crimes during this period were sanctioned, promoted and authorized by National Governments. The Governments of nations can and do become evil, corrupt and murderous. We the people of the world must be forever vigilant against vesting too much power in the hands of too few people. Concentrated power almost always becomes corrupt. We must learn from history how to prevent the concentrations of power in too few people. These concentrations of power can sooner or later lead to evil. Even power that is initially built on good intentions will good bad eventually. That is the nature of the human condition that we must fear that charismatic leaders will concentrate power in ways that are unhealthy and deadly. We should find ways to avoid electing charismatic leaders as these types of leaders are just too dangerous. The Holocaust happened just seconds ago in terms of the lifespan of our planet, and something like it will happen again unless we learn the lessons taught to us by history.
