James H. Kidd first discovered the Gala Apple as one of several seedlings that results from a breeding program in New Zealand. The Gala first gained popularity in the 1930s as a commercially viable apple having beneficial characteristics from its parents: the prodigious Golden Delicious and the Kidd's Orange Red.

The Gala apple is round, bright reddish orange with slight vertical striping along the apple. Before maturing on the tree, the Gala is peppered with hints of orange and yellow from its grandparent the Cox Orange Pippin that matures to a saturated bright red color. Its flesh is ivory to pale yellow in color that snaps with a crispy bite. Many also report a wonderful fragrance with the Gala though this author has not noticed that. One of our early ripeners- the Gala helps form the sweetness found in our early cider productions. Generally smaller but great for kid's lunches.

Its excellent growing and storing ability helped the Gala become on of the most popular apples in the world. It is hardy from zones 4 to 9 and requires less chill hours (dormancy period for trees) than other apple trees~ 800 hours. Because its long storing capacity and since its been around for nearly 100 years, the Gala has been widely used in baking.

Old school denim — not stretchy
Fit Type: Regular, Size: X-Small, Color: Authentic Medium Wash
Fabric used is old school denim — not the thin, stretchy stuff that pretty much everything called “denim” is today. It is 99% cotton (20% of which is recycled cotton) and 1% elastane, but I can’t feel any stretch in the fabric. It is a substantial, non-stretchy denim that gives the jacket really good structure. It has a higher end fit and look than the price would suggest. I wanted a more fitted denim jacket so ordered an XS even though according to the size chart I need a small. (I have a 34.5” bust, 28” waist at 118 pounds 5’4”.) It still buttons over a t shirt or lightweight sweater with freedom for movement/without being tight, but if I wanted a roomy fit or the ability to wear a heavier sweater or sweatshirt underneath and still be able to comfortably button it I would have needed a small. The shoulders are cut broad — I have very broad shoulders and the XS surprisingly fits my shoulders well. This jacket may not be the greatest fit for you if you have very narrow shoulders, unless you are going for an oversized look.

made well
Fit Type: Regular, Size: Large, Color: Iced Light Wash
I couldn't get this in my size (medium) so I ordered large. it's a little large in the shoulders, but it still looks good. it is a well made, substantial jacket. I love it!

Sexy Comfort Casual Appeal
Size: Medium, Color: Classic Medium Wash
This is a very sexy in a comfortable easy flowing dress. The material feels good on the skin. It is thin and lightweight although long sleeves you will definitely want to wear a jacket or coat with this if you are wearing this in the winter time. It is comfortable and I like the fit on me. I am 5'5 weigh 150 and have large bust size 34DDD I ordered a medium and it fits me well. No gapping at the front where the buttons meet. I think this is a nice Jean dress for the price and the quality is nice. I like it

Cute lightweight shirt-dress
Size: XX-Large, Color: Classic Medium Wash
Flattering, but a little tight in the chest for larger bosoms, and a little short so I wore it over leggings.
