The Mother in Law's Tongue Plant Story
Sansevieria Trifasciata Laurentii is native to Tropical West Africa and is also known as Snake Plant, and Mother-In-Law’s tongue.
Although Mother-In-Laws tongue is reliable in low-light conditions, it way prefers light! If you can place a Sansevieria in a bright room it will reward you with quick growth. Overexposed to direct sun can damage Sansevieria Trifasciata Laurentii’s smooth waxy texture and brilliant colour. Therefore, during the summer months, it’s a good idea to move your Sansevieria out of direct sunlight.
Sansevierias only need watering once every 14 days in summer, and once every 6 weeks in Winter. Succulents hold water in their thick leaves, and their roots, so their soil should be left to entirely dry out between waterings. When you do water your Mother-In-Laws Tounge give it a good drink; just make sure it isn’t left sitting in water.

Unlike many succulents, Sansevieria Trifasciata Laurentii can thrive in low-light. So for decorating rooms lacking natural light, sansevieria is your plant! Sansevierias is particularly good for cheering up gloomy spaces due to having large green leaves which trigger an evolutionary response that helps us feel energized and healthy. This plant must be out of reach of nibbly pets or children and can reach up to four feet tall.
