The dress is cut on the bias with horizontal stitching in rows at either upper side. The gown is basically sleeveless, but has small capelet like covers at the shoulders. This is a gorgeous 1920s evening gown or formal dress.  This 1920s evening gown features beautiful quality black panne silk velvet with a chiffon panel inset at the right shoulder, front and back, that is studded with rhinestones.  The dress is cut on the bias with horizontal stitching in rows at either upper side.  The gown is basically sleeveless, but has small capelet-like covers at the shoulders.  It is unlined and falls beautifully

Condition:  This 1920s evening gown is in very good condition with no wear, tears, pronounced marking, stains or odours.  This dress looks to have seen very little use and was well stored over the years.

This is a beautiful 1920s evening gown - fabulous panne velvet, very soft and luxurious, with lovely weight and fall, gorgeous dress!

Its great to be able to go back and read Stokely Carmichael today in his own words. This book provides an excellent overview of what black power means and how the concept originated. Although the book seems a bit dated today, many of the ideas presented are still entirely relevant. Ive only given the book four stars due to its age. Many of the statistics presented are dated, and undoubtedly there are other texts available today that present these ideas in a much better/newer way. But if you are interested in Stokely Carmichael and what he stood for, this is the book to read.
