vintage clothing prom dresses Vintage 50s Prom Dress Brown Chantilly Lace Size SThis is an early 1960s or 50s prom dress made of brown lace, I believe chantilly lace. The lace features a floral design on netting and the dress is constructed with the lace over a layer of netting over a copper brown taffeta base with layers of tulle supporting the outer layers. The dress is sleeveless with spaghetti shoulder straps. The bodice is decorated with a blue satin silk ribbon and bow. This 50s prom dress has a full skirt that is posed
This is an early 1960s or 50s prom dress made of brown lace, I believe “chantilly” lace. The lace features a floral design on netting and the dress is constructed with the lace over a layer of netting over a copper brown taffeta base with layers of tulle supporting the outer layers. The dress is sleeveless with spaghetti shoulder straps. The bodice is decorated with a blue satin silk ribbon and bow. This 50s prom dress has a full skirt that is posed with a crinoline underneath - although there is tulle supporting the skirt, in order to achieve the same full “50s” skirt look, the use of a crinoline would be helpful (none is provided). The dress does up the back with a metal zipper.
Label: Only a cardboard size tag that reads 12 note this is a late 50s or early 60s sizing, so smaller than one would think.
Sizing: please note the following measurements for fit of this 50s prom dress, taking into account the style of the dress:
Bust: 34”-35” around
Waist: 25” around
Hips: Full
Length: 41” long, measured flat including the shoulder straps
Condition: This 50s prom dress is in very good condition with the exception of a some light discolouration/soiling at the underarm area and a bit of the same to the back bow. I have not tried to treat or clean those areas. Otherwise, this 50s prom dress is without other wear or tear.
This is a very cute vintage 50s prom dress - minor discolouration or soiling, with a bit of cleaning, this is ready to wear!
