This vintage red velvet pinafore dress feels straight out of the Nutcracker ballet— so magical. Crafted of rich silk-velvet, it features an "apron" front with ruffles, and open sides, which make it perfect for layering over a variety of underpinnings, such as a turtleneck as shown here. This piece was hand-made, so it is entirely one-of-a-kind and you won't find another. The bodice is lined. Note there are no fiber contents listed but it feels like silk velvet. Please note the turtleneck is not included.
Measurements: This piece is cut for petite proportions; it's shown on someone 5'7" so it's somewhat off, but it will work better on someone 5'5" and under. Keep in mind the open sides of the bodice leave some flexibility. Will probably fit a size X-Small and Small, depending on height, but please refer to below measurements to be sure.
Bodice length: 10" from shoulder to top of waistband; 13" from shoulder to bottom of waistband
Top of waistband: 27" laid flat
Hips are open
Length: 49.5" from shoulder to hem (can be let out by about 4" if needed)
Good vintage condition overall, with some minor wear commensurate with age. There is some sort of scuffing/very minor discoloration to velvet (on the skirt) but because of the way the fabric is gathered/the velvet's texture, it literally disappears into the dress.
