This vintage drop-waist beaded silk dress was made by Victoria Royal in the 1980s. The brand is known for their opulently beaded-silk eveningwear. I love this dress for many reasons, starting with its versatility— the straps are removable, so it can be worn strapless, or with the dainty spaghetti straps. The drop-waist bodice is entirely beaded, giving way to a gathered skirt with a peplum— each edge is scalloped to emphasize the petal-like effect. This silhouette reminds me of a modern version of Christian Dior's famous Venus and Junon gowns. The structured silk material loans itself well to the sculpted silhouette. The bodice is boned on the sides to create a flattering hourglass shape. (Note that fiber contents are not listed, but it feels like silk.)

Good vintage condition overall, with minor wear commensurate with age, including some minor loss to beading in a patch on the back, but it truly is not at all noticeable when worn, and because of the way the beading is done, it won't cause any additional loss.
