A stunning antique circa 1920 English mahogany and pine dresser that has been painted in a beautiful pale blue and lightly distressed. The mahogany was left to create a notched French line motif on each drawer, as well as each drawer surround. The original mahogany knobs are inset with mother-of-pearl discs... four discs bear a design while the other four are plain, see last two photos. The drawer interiors are constructed with hand cut dovetails and crafted of ash wood. Note that the two front feet are different profiles indicating that one foot, likely the one of the left, is a historic replacement. Note the narrow, stable splits in the side panels and the filled, stable cracks in the top. Solid construction throughout and offering so much storage space, this piece is decorative as well as functional!
Measurements 48.5"H x 46.5"W x 20"D
Condition commensurate with age and use. Random scratches, imperfections and small pieces of missing veneer. The blue distressed paint is modern and not original to the piece, therefore lead-free. Chest of drawers casework is strong. The drawers glide smoothly. One knob (right, second from bottom drawer) has a chip missing on the underside so not visible from the front.
