HAS YOUR E24 ODOMETER BEEN LONG BROKEN?

Well, now is your chance to fix it! There is nothing is more frustrating than when your odometer stops counting your miles driven and when your trip odometer doesn't work. Stop guessing when your next maintenance item or oil change is. The great news is, you can fix your own odometer for a fraction of what you thought it costed. It's not as hard as it may seem. We'll walk you through how to replace those three pesky little gears that are known to go bad in your E24 odometer. Don't get ripped of by odometer repair shops that charge over $200 for this 20 minute job! You have always been a DIY type of person, why stop now?

EVERY E24 ODOMETER GEAR KIT INCLUDES

This E24 odometer kit includes 3 gears that you will need to get your odometer working again. The factory gears get soft over time (Imagine how a stale Oreo cookie would feel when broken in half, that's what the gears in your current broken gauge feel like). Our Garagistic gears are made with an OEM superior material with a quality fit and finish that will last; These gears will outlive your car! Comes with a lifetime warranty, because we are Garagistic, we always put the customer first.

Note

E24 odometers had 12 teeth drive gears, 12/48 center gears, and either 17/48 or 19/48 options for the third gear. The most common gear is the 19tooth and this is what is shipped by default. Please count before ordering to ensure you get the correct third gear count. Failing to do this will mean you will need to purchase another third gear separately (we do not take fault if you do not tell us what your third gear count is). Colors may vary. When purchasing our kit be sure to check out our INSTALLATION GUIDE (E30 version, but steps are the same)

PLEASE NOTE: YOUR KIT'S GEAR COLOR MAY BE DIFFERENT FROM PICTURED

VDO E30 ODOMETER REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS

This guide should only be used to help you as a suggested way to fix your equipment. They are not intended to be the only way to do. Its your responsibility if any damage occurs. If you are not sure of any part of these instructions, feel free to send us an email, we would be happy to help.

There are many small pieces involved with this. So proceed with caution, use common sense and proper safety measures.

Please be aware that we are not responsible for any damages that happen. By using this guide you understand that we have made this only to make installation easier for you. However, do to the age of these things, every gauge cluster has been through a different life.

TOOLS NEEDED:

- Assortment of philips screw drivers

- needle nose pliers

- flat screw driver

- a little patience

TIME NEEDED:

- About 45mins. This is something that takes patience, as you're dealing with lots of tiny pieces.

STEP 1

Remove the 9 philips screws in the back of your gauge. When placed down, be careful not to brake the tabs!

STEP 2

When removing rear panel, take note of the two lower tabs and be sure to pull straight up or damage to connectors inside may happen.

STEP 3

Remove the 4 philips screws that hold the odometer in place. Before you try to take out the cluster, do not forget the connector at the bottom. There are tabs that hold it in place. Once this is out you can pull straight out because there are connectors holding. DO NOT BEND! We found its best if you hold the cluster as it was placed in the car that way it doesnt fall out.

STEP 4

When odometer is out, you will see the gears on the side. There should be three. See the damage.

STEP 5

There are two screws holding a clear cover over the gears. Remove them.

STEP 6

The gears can then be replaced in the order they are taken out. They fit in an interlocking stacking setup. Notice that the gears are very soft and will fall apart as you try to remove them. NOTE: There is a brass bushing on the smaller 12 tooth gear. Its on the shaft and needs to be removed to install the new gear. You do not need this bushing with the new gear. DO NOT TRY TO PULL THE BUSHING OFF WITH ANY TOOLS AS THIS WILL DAMAGE THE MOTOR. Best way is to use a pair of plyers and lightly squeeze the bushing from one side, then the other. Then it ill slip right out. Do not use too much force!

Dont forget to install out spacer to keep the gears spaced correctly. DO NOT PUSH IT ALL THE WAY DOWN AGAINST THE GEAR. THIS WILL CAUSE THE GEARS TO BE PINCHED AND NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE!

STEP 7

Put together in reverse order. Be sure you have gotten all the old pieces of the gears out so you have no future problems. Before closing everything up be sure to run the gears by hand to make sure everything is right and working correctly.

ENJOY! No more guessing when the next oil change is!

A tiny natural loofah that cleans well.
I am thoroughly impressed. This little pouch is a game-changer for my skincare routine. It's the perfect size for holding my soap bars, and the natural sisal and ramie materials provide excellent exfoliation without being too harsh on my skin. The design is thoughtful and functional. It creates a rich lather, which makes my soap last longer and ensures a thorough cleanse every time. I love that it's eco-friendly and made from natural fibers, which is important to me as I try to reduce my environmental impact.

This handy little tool holds my soap and exfoliates my skin gently.
I bought this as a bag for my new shampoo bar so it'll last longer. This bag generates a nice lather, hangs off my shower caddy, and allows the bar to dry between uses. Makes shampoo bars much more convenient. The texture of the pouch remains scratchy after 3 or 4 uses so far but it produces a good amount of lather in combination with my bar soap. Hoping it softens up with use. Very good for exfoliating! The bag does have a canvas scent to it, but once you add water and lather up the soap inside it disappears. I love this bag. We always have a bunch of soap pieces in a basket on our tub, and now we can use them till there’s nothing left! My husband's biggest complaint when convincing him to switch to bar soaps with me was that they are so slippery in the shower and difficult to use. This thing is the ANSWER! It's the perfect sudsy, exfoliating grip for bar soaps that is still eco friendly - plus, the string is great for hanging on the shower head after!

Not too harsh
Each one holds a regular bar of soap. Not the wife’s imported French soap. Found the soap holds suds better if used while under water. Instead of lathering and washing first. Just wash under water. Trust me, it works better. The material is not harsh like a loofa. Gentle enough for the face and body. I can see how these will wear out after a few months. We have hard water and the material is already showing stains. Family likes them.

Great for preventing waste
I have been looking for a product comparable to this for ages and I am so glad that I found these. There are always little pieces of soap floating around in my shower and now this will ensure that they do not go to waste. I love that the bags are exfoliating and help my skin stay smooth in the Winter. For the price you absolutely cannot beat the value as you get a pack of 5. They are very durable and so far seem to hold up well. I highly recommend these soap saver bags to anyone that uses bar soap!

Well made and durable
These little soap holders are going to be great stocking stuffers! I kept one for myself because it’s the perfect amount of roughness to slough off dead skin and prep for shaving. I don’t think you even need to put a bar of soap in there (though it does help) but they work like those Korean body cloths. They feel handmade and are really gorgeous to display in the bathroom.
