Takemoto Kama Seisakusho

Root-Stirring Stick for Plant Enthusiasts, Made by a Century-Old Master Scythe Workshop

01 Loosen the Soil

Unique Spiral Design
Carefully loosen roots entangled in the soil with this transplanting root-stirring stick.
Crafted by a skilled scythe blacksmith, the spiral shape makes soil cling, fall off easily, and allows effortless pushing into the soil.

02 Gently Care for Your Plants

Blade Features

  • Perfect for removing soil and untangling roots

  • Helps push soil between roots when repotting

  • Blades are sharpened yet rounded, minimizing damage to roots and pots

Spatula Features

  • Creates gaps when removing plants from pots

  • Useful for “offset seedling separation” tasks

03 Stylish Design with High Durability

The Soil Stick is a new concept of root-stirring tool under the brand TAKEMOTO BROS., combining functionality, durability, and design.

Materials & Finish

  • METAL Type: Made from durable, rust-resistant stainless steel. Each stick is hand-twisted and forged. Surface rust may appear due to carbon content and heating during forging, but it can be removed easily with toothpaste or a melamine sponge.

  • BRASS Type: Made from brass that develops a stylish patina over time.

Available Sizes

Choose the size according to your plants:

Size Shape Features
SS Square For small pots. Ideal for delicate work with succulents and cacti.
S Square Suitable for small pots and seedling work. Best for fine soil. May bend if used on hard, coarse soil.
M Hexagonal Suitable for large pots. High durability allows for more forceful work.

History of Takemoto Kama Seisakusho

Founded in 1912 by the first-generation Kikumasu brothers as scythe blacksmiths, the workshop has continued for over 110 years. Although production briefly ceased during wartime, the tradition has persisted. Even in the age of mechanization, each blade is carefully finished by hand, ensuring sharpness, durability, and ease of use.

In addition to the classic Kikumasu Series, the workshop now offers TAKEMOTO BROS., a brand that fuses functionality, durability, and design, continuing to explore the next generation of scythe and gardening tools.
