scott pedale mtb Scott Spark 910 BikeThe Scott Spark 910 Bike occupies a space that most mountain bikes only pretend to reach genuinely fast on the climbs, genuinely capable on the descents, and light enough that you never feel like you brought the wrong bike. Built on Scott's Spark 900 platform with 130mm of front travel and 120mm in the rear, this is downcountry done right: a trail bike with the soul of a race machine. The Scott Spark 910 Bike occupies a space that most mountain bikes only pretend to reach — genuinely fast on the climbs, genuinely capable on the descents, and light enough that you never feel like you brought the wrong bike. Built on Scott's Spark 900 platform with 130mm of front travel and 120mm in the rear, this is downcountry done right: a trail bike with the soul of a race machine.

Scott's Integrated Suspension Technology hides the FOX NUDE 5T EVOL shock entirely inside the frame, tucked within the seat tube area where it sits lower and more protected than a conventional layout. The design, born from Scott's acquisition of Swiss suspension specialists Bold Cycles, does more than clean up the silhouette. It drops the center of gravity, shields the shock from trail debris and weather, and opens up the main triangle for a full-size frame bag. The FlexPivot rear end uses the natural flex of the carbon seat stays instead of traditional pivot bearings — fewer moving parts, less maintenance, and a system that stays consistent ride after ride.

What sets the Spark 910 apart from simpler trail bikes is TwinLoc. A single left-hand remote simultaneously controls both the fork and rear shock across three modes: full Descend for open trails, Traction Control that firms the rear to 80mm with increased compression damping, and complete Lockout for paved approaches or fire road climbs. A third integrated lever drops the FOX Transfer Performance Elite dropper post. Three levers, total suspension and seatpost control, no looking down.

Design Benefits

  1. Integrated Suspension Technology: Hiding the rear shock inside the frame lowers the bike's center of gravity and protects the shock from mud, rocks, and moisture — extending service intervals and improving handling balance through technical terrain.
  2. TwinLoc Three-Mode Control: Simultaneous fork and shock adjustment from a single lever means you can go from locked-out climbing efficiency to fully open descending capability in an instant, without taking your hands off the bar or breaking your rhythm.
  3. Adjustable Head Angle: Reversible Acros headset cups provide +/-0.6 degrees of head angle adjustment without disconnecting any cables — tune the geometry steeper for XC racing or slacker for trail riding in minutes.
  4. FlexPivot Simplicity: Carbon seat stays flex to provide rear suspension travel without traditional pivot bearings. The result is a lighter rear end with fewer parts to wear out, service, or replace.
  5. Shimano XT Drivetrain and Brakes: The full XT 12-speed groupset delivers reliable shifting across the wide 10-51T range, while four-piston XT brakes provide consistent stopping power that inspires confidence on steep, technical descents.

Final Take

The Scott Spark 910 is built for riders who refuse to compromise. It climbs with the efficiency of an XC race bike — lock out the suspension and the steep seat angle puts your power directly into the pedals. Point it downhill and the 130mm fork, slack 65.8-degree head angle, and wide 760mm carbon bar give you the confidence to push into terrain that would have most lightweight bikes out of their depth. Whether you are racing marathon events, exploring backcountry singletrack, or simply want one bike that covers everything from the local loop to a multi-day bikepacking trip, the Spark 910 makes a compelling case that you do not need a quiver — you need a smarter bike.

Very Informative, but lacking in one or two areas.
Format: Kindle
I'm disabled and need a better living condition. I'm already on the waiting list for S8 and have been for the last year and a half. The book is informative, but it lacks in some areas. The author seems to think that many on disability have the option to "physically move around" doing chores and visiting offices. I'm a disabled 53 year old man, homebound and just recently lost daytime access to my little truck, only available to me during the weekends and evening hours, and when I do have it, it's rare I drive long distances. I cannot even afford to ride public transportation and have no one else to lean on for support. Also he seems to think that buying donuts/lunch for the whole office is a way in... maybe it's a way in for those that can afford it.. but not for many. Other than that.. it's worth to buy the download of the book itself.

Can be useful for some.
Format: Paperback
This book is an easy read. I read it in one sitting. I found the information interesting, and not boring. Please keep in mind that everyone's situation is different, and not all tips will apply to you. I did find some points useful for future reference. If you're someone who doesn't know much about section 8 you would probably find this book helpful. Overall, I don't regret getting this book.

Great even if you don't use section 8
This a great book even if you aren't planning to use section 8. I learned a lot of things to go on the frugal side to save some money. This guy had 300 homes so you know he was doing something right. It was so interesting to read. Great book...I read it fast and I read it 2 times. I followed a lot of his tips.

Average information
I bought this book in hopes that it might help me with getting insights into the section eight selection system. Mostly common sense, good book for someone completely new to the whole section 8.
