Blink-182 is back on the stage for the state of pop punk with the Fender Limited Edition Mark Hoppus Jaguar Bass. With Mark, Tom and Travis back together for a long-awaited reunion, Blink is back breaking hearts and causing a stir like it's 1999 all over again. For a limited time, fans of Fender and Blink have the opportunity to take on some of Blink-182's very own musical mojo with this limited Jaguar model. This bass, a model identical to what Hoppus plays onstage during the 2024 Blink tour, carries with it all the charm and style the band is known for. As a piece of Blink history, this model is all the broad strokes and all the small things.

Hoppus, historically favoring eye-catching and playable basses across Blink-182's lengthy career, can be seen with guitars popping with color and sound from the late '90s to all the way to today. As a bass, this limited edition model delivers on all the playability and sound Hoppus needs for world tours. Whether pounding out a pop punk bass bullet train on songs like "The Rock Show" or rolling in a new wave composition on "I Miss You", Hoppus plays with versatility and energy and this Jaguar matches that exact speed and style.

This Mark Hoppus Jaguar starts out easily with an alder, offset body. Formed in a shape too bold to ignore, this Jaguar is carefully contoured and easily carried across a stage. Its maple neck joins the formula in a Custom "C" profile with a satin urethane finish. Silky to the touch and quickly played, this neck is perfectly fitted for the punky riffs Hoppus lays down across Blink's discography. The maple neck is matched with a slab rosewood fingerboard lined with twenty Medium Jumbo frets for easy fretting. Across its body and scale length, this body is quick and form-fitting for seamless onstage performance.

Sonically, the experience of this Jaguar comes to life quickly with a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Precision Bass split single-coil pickup. This pickup plays to the melodic strengths Hoppus has shown across his career with Blink, along with being a reliable split-coil P-Bass pickup ready for anything. One Master Volume control keeps things simple and ready for action with a treble bleed circuit to retain high-end while rolling the volume back. This Jaguar goes even further to assure a strong playing experience with a 4-Saddle HiMass Vintage bridge that opens the field for through-body or top-load stringing. At its headstock, four Standard Open-Gear tuning machines ensure quick string changes and stability past a Synthetic Bone nut. To bring it all together, Fender dropped in a Mark Hoppus "Hi My Name is Mark" octopus logo on the neck plate. Moving from one gig to the next, this bass travels in an included Fender Deluxe gig bag.

As one of pop punk's most prolific and enduring voices, Mark Hoppus relies on Fender basses for his brand of musicality. This Jaguar delivers on everything needed to leave the runway and take off in style.

Better than the Chronicles
Format: Paperback
I hope DC keeps on publishing these omnibus series up to the silver age and also the softcover option. I much prefer these new softcover editions over the older chronicles series for several reasons. These STGA softcovers are very big almost twice the stories compared to the chronicles and at a very affordable price. Actually a very good price. Also the paper is one hundred times better, I hated the chronicles' paper. Amazon is wonderful too, they now deliver my comics to my house in Costa Rica in less than a couple of weeks, they always arrive before the scheduled time. Excellent service. The only thing to complain is the reproduction. I consider that Marvel makes better efforts than DC to restore their GA stuff. The Cory Sedlemeier books like the Marvel Comics Golden Age omnibus look like they were drawn this morning. DC is usually quite cheaper and prefers not invest in that. So we get the same results as the old early 2000s Archives. I know today it is impossible to get original art pages of action comics 1-10 But I still think that compared to Marvel DC is very lazy and a skintflint when it comes to restoring their old books.

Got it for my college class, it was a required text.
Format: Paperback
Got this book for one my college class, no joke this was a required text. But overall it was an okay read, only reason why I gave it a 4 out 5 is because I prefer to read books for enjoyment and interest, reading a book for class takes that away.

Superman, a Dark Knight in the Skies
Format: Paperback
This is a beautiful tome of the first issues of Superman under Action Comics and the first Superman issue. Although providing the same texts of Chronicles, I find this series better because they have more issues per volume. In spite of its 390 pages, these volumes are light and easy to handle. Albeit the simplicity and innocence of these stories, Superman impresses me as a "dark knight" of the skies given his toughness with the bad guys. In these stories, he's got no compassion for criminals. He also defends the working class, stand for fair treatment of workers, and even takes an "isolationist" stance which was popular in the days before WWII. Another surprise for the first-time reader of this period is that Superman can't fly; he can only leap over tall buildings. There is no Krypton and no Daily Planet. The city of Metropolis is introduced for the first time in the second half of this tome. And Lois Lane is often relegated to unimportant journalistic tasks, while she has greater ambitions. It is a great experience to read these old stories in a beautifully designed tome. I hope they reproduce the others quickly.
