Sansevieria cylindrica ‘Spaghetti’, often referred to as the Spaghetti Snake Plant, is a rare and highly ornamental cultivar of the cylindrical snake plant family. Native to Angola, Sansevieria cylindrica species are admired for their bold, architectural form, and this variety is particularly distinctive for its slender, pencil-like leaves.

The plant produces tall, narrow, cylindrical leaves that are much thinner than the standard cylindrica, resembling strands of spaghetti. The leaves are a grey-green tone with subtle darker banding and a smooth, leathery surface. Their upright, radiating habit gives the plant a sculptural look, perfect for modern or minimalist interiors.

Typically, Sansevieria ‘Spaghetti’ grows to around 30–50 cm tall, forming neat clumps over time. Its tough, drought-tolerant nature and quirky shape make it both an easy-care and conversation-starting plant.

Sansevieria cylindrica ‘Spaghetti’ – Care Guide

Light

Thrives in bright, indirect light but tolerates medium and low-light conditions, making it one of the most versatile houseplants. Avoid prolonged harsh sunlight, which may cause yellowing.

Watering

Extremely drought tolerant. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. In summer, water every 2–3 weeks; in winter, once a month or less. Overwatering is the main risk.

Temperature and Humidity

  • Temperature: Prefers warmth, ideally 18–28°C. Can survive brief dips to 10°C but should not be exposed to frost.

  • Humidity: Perfectly adapted to dry indoor air; no additional humidity is required.

Soil and Potting

Use a gritty, free-draining succulent or cactus compost. Heavy or tall pots are recommended to balance the upright leaves. Repot every 2–3 years in spring as clumps expand.

Feeding

Feed once a month in spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertiliser. Stop feeding in autumn and winter.

Pruning and Maintenance

Remove any damaged or yellowing leaves at the base. Wipe leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to highlight their smooth, cylindrical form.

Growth and Maturity

A slow grower, usually reaching 30–50 cm tall. Produces offsets (pups) over time, which can be separated and repotted. Mature plants may produce tall flower spikes with clusters of fragrant white-green blossoms.

Common Issues

  • Mushy/yellow leaves: Overwatering.

  • Wrinkled leaves: Prolonged underwatering – revive with a deep soak.

  • Pests: Rare, but mealybugs or spider mites may appear.

Background and Benefits

Sansevierias are among the most resilient and popular indoor plants. The ‘Spaghetti’ form is especially desirable for its unusual, pencil-thin leaves that add texture and height to displays. Like all snake plants, it also acts as a natural air purifier, filtering toxins and releasing oxygen at night.

Very durable
Color: Blue
I have never written a review but just have to say how much our Pitbull LOVES this toy. It is very sturdy very good since he is such an aggressive chewer. This is only the second product I have found that he can’t destroy in 5 minutes. It keeps him busy for a long time and plays with it long after the treats are gone which is good as too many treats and he would gain weight. Highly recommend it. He weighes 70 lbs and the largest one is the perfect size. Kibble doesn’t work as it empties out immediately. I use Beggin Strips cut to size just to fit in the hole—they will come out but not all at once and survive his chewing on the toy.

Overall good toy for dogs
Color: Blue
My dog loves her snoop. I put little training treats in there for her, and she loves to roll it around and get the treats out. For her, it doesn’t last very long because they do fall out pretty easy, but she is a big dog so a smaller dog might have a harder time than her. Very sturdy and easy to travel with. Not noisy at all. I would say it’s a good, quick play toy for a dog like mine.

Fav Chew Toy 🦴
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
My baby is half rottweiler and half doberman &’ he has a pretty strong grip when it comes to chew toys. But this one, it’s his favorite toy! He never leaves the house without it. It’s also really fun to add his favorite treats in there when’s he bored to keep him entertained! Not loud at all and will keep him from chewing on other things and not heavy as other rough chew toys!

Great you made super well
Color: Blue Lil Snoop, Color: Blue Lil Snoop
This is such an awesome toy. It’s super durable strong bounces and a perfect size. We got the small. We got blue because our pup can see it. It allows for creativity and endless limits to what you can make for it to be a fun experience. It has a nice sized hole in the center which allows you to add treats and food. Pop it inward and it slightly if large enough prevents the treats from coming out super fast. The ball rolls bounces and they can grip it nicely. It is easy to clean The only thing I didn’t like was the way the plastic tabs were situated inside the toy as you just be careful you don’t allow it to drip inside and dog gets it. No noise just fun. Our 15lb Cavapoo loves it

No challenge once they figure it out once, or if they have a long nose
Color: Blue
The first time I used this with my 9 month old Shepard mix, it was great. We used about 1/3 cup of her kibble and added the Nook to make it harder. It kept her working for 20-30 minutes. However, now that she knows how to remove the Nook, and stick her snout into the opening and lick up the kibble, it lasts about 5 minutes, and is no longer a challenge. She still enjoys playing with this, even when it is empty, and hasn't it destroyed it yet, so for that 3 stars.
