FAQ

Q: Do I need to drill to install the Cargo Slide in my pickup?

A: Yes, drilling is required to install the slide in your vehicle. The only exception is the Ineos Quartermaster for which you can use the existing threaded holes built into the load bed.

Q: Can I drill in to the Cargo Slide to mount additional items?

A: While we do not recommend altering the product and void our warranty, we can confirm that the Cargo Slide is made of aluminum and it is easy to drill through with the added benefit of being rust-free.

Q: I have a drawer from Tailgate Gear, can I mount it on the Cargo Slide?

A: Yes, if your Tailgate Gear Drawer is the 49cm width model, you can mount it on top of the Cargo Slide.

Q: Does the Cargo Slide require any maintenance?

A: The only elements that may require a checkup once in a while are the slides to make sure they are greased up.

Q: Does the Cargo Slide lock into position when closed or open?

A: Yes, the slides have 2 lock position to make sure the slide does not open and does not close when on uneven terrains. 

Q: Does the Cargo Slide come pre-assembled?

A: Yes, you will receive a pallet with the pre-assembled slide and instructions on how to best install it.

Q: What is the maximum load the slide can support when fully extended?

A: The load capacity of a fully extended slide depends on both the rails rating and the position of the load.
Rails load ratings are defined with a distributed load and the center of gravity approximately at half the rails length. When the slide is fully extended and the load is placed at the front edge, the allowable load is reduced due to increased leverage.

Example: A pair of 1100mm rails rated 225 kg at 450 mm will support about 45 kg at the front edge of a 1100 mm fully extended slide, including the weight of the slide. 

Of course that is counterbalanced by the total weight when well distributed on the slide. So LOAD DISTRIBUTION IS KEY on the slide, with heavy items best placed towards the back of the slide.
