Aglaonema 'Crimson Love'

Aglaonema 'Crimson Love' layers salmon, rose and crimson tones over glossy green leaves, giving this Chinese evergreen a warmer colour range than red-edged forms such as 'Crete'. The markings appear as irregular patches, speckles and broader panels across oval to elliptic blades.

The plant grows from short basal stems and keeps a self-heading habit. Young plants stand upright and compact; mature plants broaden as side shoots add more leaves around the base.

Crimson Love colour traits

  • Glossy green leaves with salmon-pink to crimson patches
  • Oval to elliptic blades carried on upright petioles
  • Self-heading growth that becomes fuller over time
  • Natural variation in pattern from one leaf to the next
  • Compact indoor pot size with visible warm red-pink colour

Crimson foliage and clumping habit

Medium-sized leaves rise from the short crown and sit slightly above one another as Aglaonema 'Crimson Love' matures. The green base gives each leaf its outline, while the pink and crimson sections add depth across the blade.

Aglaonema is native across warm, shaded regions from north-east India through Southeast Asia and into New Guinea. Indoors, warmth keeps petioles firm, filtered light reduces scorch marks, and an airy lightly moist mix keeps the lower roots from staying wet.

Pot size matters on dense self-heading cultivars. Too much spare substrate around a young root ball can stay wet near the lower roots and crown base.

Care points for Crimson Love

  • Light: Medium to bright indirect light keeps petioles firmer and reduces small, stretched new leaves. Filter harsh direct sun to protect the glossy surface.
  • Watering: Water after the upper part of the mix has dried. Check deeper into the pot before watering when the room is cooler or light is lower.
  • Substrate: Use an airy mix with organic fibre, fine bark and mineral drainage, so the roots get moisture without sitting in compact wet substrate.
  • Drainage: Let water move through the pot and remove standing water from outer pots after watering.
  • Temperature: Keep at 18–26 °C. Warm, steady conditions keep petioles firm and reduce cold-related leaf marking.
  • Humidity: Moderate humidity reduces crisp edges, stuck new leaves and dry marks on unfolding foliage.
  • Feeding: Use a diluted balanced fertiliser during active growth. Heavy feeding can leave salt residue and mark the leaf edges.
  • Pot choice: Keep the root ball snug. A young 'Crimson Love' surrounded by too much substrate may stay wet at the base.
  • Repotting: Repot when roots are active and the pot dries more evenly after watering. Warm conditions help damaged root tips resume growth faster after repotting.
  • Pruning: Remove older fading leaves close to the base. Clean cuts reduce damp wounds near the crown.
  • Temporary outdoor placement: In warm, shaded and sheltered conditions, this plant can spend time outdoors. Move it inside again before nights drop below 14 °C.
  • Propagation: Divide mature clumps when separate shoots have their own roots. Keep new divisions warm and lightly moist so cut roots do not dry before new root tips form.

Crimson Love leaf stress checks

  • Yellowing lower leaves: Check the lower mix and root-zone temperature. Several fading base leaves often mean the pot is staying wet too long.
  • Brown tips or margins: Review fertiliser strength, mineral residue, uneven watering and dry airflow.
  • Soft crown base: Inspect root firmness and adjust watering until the mix drains again and air reaches the roots.
  • Marked leaf surface: Check for direct sun, cold exposure or dried water spots. Sun marks, cold patches and dried water spots show quickly on glossy leaves.
  • Pale, stretched new growth: Move to steadier indirect light and rotate the pot so new leaves do not lean strongly to one side.

Aglaonema 'Crimson Love' may occasionally produce a small spathe and spadix. Remove the inflorescence at the base once it fades.

Safety note for Crimson Love

Aglaonema 'Crimson Love' should be kept away from pets and children. Its plant tissue contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals, which can irritate the mouth and throat if eaten or nibbled. Sap may also bother sensitive skin, so gloves help when cutting or dividing the plant.

Light weight, and high quality!
Size: 17" (2 x 4.0Ah)
I had concerns when we got this mower. It isn’t self propelled, and is smaller than our last one, but it really surprised me. We have a lot of yard, and are on a hill, which added to our concerns. It is lightweight, which makes it really easy to use. You can raise and lower the deck with a couple of fingers. It even goes up the hill easily. The only downside is the battery life. It comes with 2 24v batteries, and needs both to operate. They last about 30 min. My thought was to get a second set of batteries, but they cost as much as another mower. I like the easy maintenance, and light weight, and that it has power and is quiet. Great mower.

Great electric mower for the price
Size: 17" (2 x 4.0Ah)
This was one of my favorite purchases this year. The November isn't noisy, looks much better than my previous electric lawnmower, and was surprisingly powerful for what it was. Out of the box, it was super easy to set up. My only gripe is that I wish the batteries would last a little longer. Currently, it lasts about 45 min per charge.

Lawnmower
Size: 17" (2 x 4.0Ah)
Bought this and two extra batteries. One battery turned out to be bad and won't charge. The lawnmower so far is great. Cuts good and very lightweight. Would recommend it, the batteries not so much.

It actually does the job pretty well
Style: Lawn Edger/Tool Only
I floundered around for a few minutes, then figured out how to use it, and then made pretty good progress on my overgrown sidewalks. Yes, it uses up batteries but that's because it actually has enough power to do the job, unlike many "homeowner" tools. The handle is long enough so I'm not painfully bent over while using the tool, and it feels solid and stable. One thing I really appreciated is that it doesn't have a typical pointless, awkward "safety" interlock button that you're supposed to keep mashed down with your thumb the whole time - it's a comfortable one-finger trigger. Another good 20v tool from Worx. I'm "in".
