Mahle x20 system

• 3 Support levels
  The new Human Machine Interface of the Mahle X20 system lets you choose between three support levels. Up to 55 Nm of torque ensure exceptional riding dynamics - The motor is even sleeker and more lightweight, so that you can ride Emil with ease even when powered off.
• Smart app control
  Connect Emil to the Mahle app to adjust your preferred motor settings even further, switch between auto and manual lighting, create routes, track and analyze your rides, check the battery status and install updates.
• Find your Configuration
  You can either equip Emil with the new Mahle X20 system or alternatively with the previous generation X35 as a 500 euro cheaper entry-level model. You can choose between Pinion C-Line 6-speed or 9-speed gears.

Technology meets design. A lightweight rear-hub motor, the battery placed in the down tube and just one button on the top tube for control – every electric component is perfectly integrated to maintain the characteristic Schindelhauer design. Emilia is available with the new, even more powerful Mahle X20 system or the equally reliable previous generation X35.

• Powerful rear hub motor
  
  The reliable, particularly lightweight rear hub motor from MAHLE is hardly noticeable and provides a significant thrust of up to 55 Nm.
• Battery in the down tube
  
  Depending on your preferred support level, the integrated 250Wh-battery will let you travel between 50 and 80 km. A full charge takes about 3 hours. In case of service, the battery can be removed.
• Internal cable routing
  
  From the headset to the fork and the entire frame – all cables and brake cables are routed completely internally. Thanks to the one-piece hydroforming process, the completely hollow fork is particularly stable, but at the same time very light.

Top class gearbox
Completely agile and flexible on the road. As for the first time Emilia is equipped with a Pinion gear unit. The royal class among bicycle gears was developed by former Porsche engineers and impresses with its special durability, reliability and precision. Thanks to its positioning, an optimal centre of gravity is ensured.

• Pinion gearbox with 6 or 9 gears
  
  The casing of the C-Line is made of an ultra-light magnesium alloy and has a resistant powder coating on the outside. For Emilia you can choose between 6 or 9 gears (295%/568% spread).
• Precise gear changes
  
  Whether single consecutive gears or entire jumps, you always get direct feedback and thus a secure feeling when shifting. It doesn't matter whether you are standing at the traffic lights or driving - ideal in stop-and-go traffic.

Consistent with practicability and design. The newly developed Schindelhauer frame geometry with longer head tube and shorter stem ensures a comfortable riding position with Emilia. Even cobblestone paths become a new favourite shortcut with the large-volume tyres. Larger loads can be transported safely with the frame-mounted front rack and clever tensioning strap system.

• Frame geometry with low entry
  
  Our main goals when developing the geometry for Emilia were to provide enough clearance for the large-volume tyres, sufficient loading height for the front rack and a relaxed riding position. We incorporated a low bottom bracket and long head tube into the design to fully achieve all three aims.
• Frame-mounted front rack
  
  Due to the mounting on the frame, the steering behaviour remains agile even with larger loads. An integral part of the carrier concept are the innovative tensioning straps (VarioStraps), which can be individually adapted to the size and shape of the load.
• LightSKIN - integrated LED front light
  
  With a brightness of 150 lumens, it is the world's smallest lens that meets the high requirements of the StVZO. During the day, you won't even notice that it's with you.
• Curana ilu-Jr rear light
  
  Inconspicuously integrated into the rear mudguard, the StVZO rear light only catches the eye at second glance when switched off.
