Description

types of euphorbia cactus Euphorbia erythraeae variegataThis huge Candelabra Cactus will draw attention not just because of its standout size and shape (it is certainly a statement cactus!) but also because of the high level of variegation giving it the pale green and white colour across the stems. It is this colouring which has led to the nickname 'Ghost Cactus', and which makes this variety so rare. This plant is perfect for cactus connoisseurs looking to impress, or anyone in need of a plant to green up

Scientific Name
Euphorbia erythraeae 'Variegata' (Euphorbus' red variegated plant)

E. erythraeae is a synonym of E. abyssinica.

Common Name
Ghost Euphorbia, Variegated Candelabra Spurge, Variegated Candelabra Cactus

Origin
Native to Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and Eritrea.

Light
Euphorbia like bright light, and can cope with direct sun; because of the high level or variegation in this species, it needs to be in a bright window, preferably with direct sun for at least a few hours a day.

Water
This cactus cannot cope well with having constantly-moist soil, so make sure it dries out totally between waters. If your plant is in a position with less direct light, be extra careful not to overwater it!

Humidity
This cactus is adapted to arid (dry) conditions so does not need a humid location at all. If it's getting dusty feel free to hose down to clean, just make sure it can dry out quickly.

Soil
Use a well-draining soil designed for cacti and succulents, usually a mix with added grit and sand. Repot every three to four years in spring as the plant grows.

Food
Feed every two times you water in spring and summer; reduce to every three in autumn and winter.

Temperature
Average temperatures of 15-32°C are fine; make sure it doesn't get colder than 12°C in winter.

Pet-safe
No, this plant is toxic to pets and small humans, as well as having sharp spikes!

Sprouts Top Tips
If you notice brown discolouration on your Euphorbia's stems, check closer before you act; if it is soggy you may need to take cuttings to save it, but if it is 'corking' and the brown is more like hard scabs, this is natural and not a concern.

Didnt last.
Didnt even last a day. My dog is a 40 pound lab mix and figured out how to unscrew the toy within the first couple of hours. He then detroyed the plastic screw system on the inside.

Super fun toy!!
This is such a fun toy! My dog loves running after it. The shape is perfect for a medium sized dog . He isn't into the round balls, but this football shape is easier for him. I love the automatic movement because it don't have to contactly be throwing it.

Great, durable toy
Color: Blue-Red, Size: Extra Large Size 5 (9")
I’ve had this toy for a while now and my dog absolutely loves it. I frequently bring it to the dog park with us and it’s also loved by other dogs. The ball is pretty durable. My dog is not a big chewer but other dogs that play and chew on it haven’t been able to pierce it yet. The handles are sturdy and also still intact. Overall a little pricey but in my opinion worth it.

Best ball ever!
Color: Red-Blue, Size: Large Size 3 (8"), Color: Red-Blue, Size: Large Size 3 (8")
Oh my goodness. My cane corso (15 mos) LOVES this ball. It’s easy for them to pick up because of all the little handles sewn into the ball. It’s easy to throw as well. The only thing is he likes to chew them off if he gets free time with the ball. The ball itself is very sturdy. highly recommend, and I’ll be ordering more. We play with this every morning and he’s so excited to take it outside.
