Pre-releases are open to all players, new and returning players alike, that would like to discover a new set in a friendly environment. Once you’re registered, your local game store takes care of everything and as such you do not need to bring anything!
The game format for pre-releases is Sealed Deck, meaning you will get to build your own deck as part of the event. Sealed Deck is a really fun way to discover a new set: all players get the same number of cards to build from and you’ll get to play with cards you might not usually try!
When attending a Whispers from the Maze pre-release event, your store provides you with a Pre-release Kit. This kit contains everything you need to build your deck of 30 cards and play your games. Here’s what you can find in a kit:
- 7 Whispers from the Maze booster packs
- 1 set of Whispers from the Maze premium adventure cards
- 1 illustrated card divider featuring illustrations from the 18 triptych arts
- 1 guide to help you build your pre-release deck
Remember that unlike constructed formats, you can play with up to 3 different factions so mix it up and don’t be afraid to try new things!
