'Heavenly Dragon Fire' daylily —with a name like this, you know its gotta be good! Huge 7 1/2" blooms are fiery orange-red on tall sturdy scapes nearly 4’ tall in our garden. Classified as a Daylily of Unusual Form, this beauty has petals that twist and turn. Simply outstanding.
As a mid season bloomer, we typically begin to see the fiery blooms of Heavenly Dragon Fire around the middle of June. If you are to our north, you’ll see them a bit later than we do. If you are to our south, you’ll see them a couple of weeks before us.
Heavenly Angel Fire is a dormant daylily. This means it is best grown in areas of the country that receive a sustained winter cold period— like those in zones 8 and lower.
Heavenly Angel Fire sizzles when planted with bright yellow or hot pink daylilies, but we find it simply beautiful when paired with lavender or dark purple.
