Description

The fiddle leaf fig brings natural elegance to your home. Its stunning violin-shaped leaves transform any room into a sophisticated sanctuary. This West African beauty has won hearts worldwide with its dramatic presence and surprisingly forgiving nature.

With those iconic leaves reaching up to 18 inches long, Ficus lyrata creates an instant focal point wherever you place her. She’s an absolute status symbol among modern decorators and plant-lovers. She's traded her wild rainforest home for designer living rooms, and we think she's made the right choice!

This fiddle leaf fig plant grows steadily at 12-18 inches per year indoors, gracefully reaching 8-10 feet of living sculpture that brings warmth and character to your space.

Care

Do fiddle leaf figs need direct sunlight?

Your fiddle leaf fig loves bright, indirect sunlight. She'll appreciate gentle morning sun if you gradually introduce it, but harsh afternoon rays can leave it looking stressed and unhappy. East-facing windows give brightness without overwhelming its delicate leaves.

Is the fiddle leaf fig high maintenance?

We like to think of the fiddle leaf fig as just having clear preferences (but truthfully she is high maintenance). She simply knows what makes it happy and isn't shy about showing you! Once you understand its rhythm, it’s quite the agreeable companion.

It appreciates consistent care, stable placement (it's not fond of being moved around), and the right balance of water and humidity. Master these basics, and you'll have a stunning statement piece that rewards your attention with years of beautiful growth.

Is the fiddle leaf fig a good indoor plant?

The fiddle leaf fig makes an absolutely wonderful indoor plant for those who appreciate both beauty and purpose in their green companions. It's particularly special because it naturally purifies your air while creating that sophisticated, magazine-worthy look.

Its large, glossy leaves make any room feel more alive and welcoming. It's perfect for bright living rooms, spacious bedrooms, or that corner that's been waiting for something special to bring it to life.

Do fiddle leaf figs like being in a bathroom?

Fiddle leaf figs love a bathroom with a window because it gives them that perfect combination of humidity and gentle light. The natural moisture from your showers reminds it of its tropical home. Just make sure there's good natural light.

Do fiddle leaf figs need sun or shade?

Fiddle leaf figs thrive with bright light and gentle protection—bright, indirect sunlight is exactly what makes them happiest. Think filtered sunshine rather than deep shade or harsh direct rays. They need enough light to maintain those gorgeous, glossy leaves.

How do I know if my fiddle leaf fig is happy?

A content fiddle leaf fig will show you its displeasure through its beautiful, upright posture and those glossy green leaves that seem to shine with health. You'll notice steady new growth and a general sense of vitality about it.

Do fiddle leaf figs need to be by a window?

Your fiddle leaf fig definitely needs to be near a window that offers bright, indirect light for at least six hours each day to maintain healthy growth. Avoid placing it where cold drafts might reach it during winter—it demands consistency.

Windows facing east work beautifully, offering gentle morning light. South-facing windows can work too if you use sheer curtains to soften the intensity.

Where should I put my fiddle leaf fig indoors?

The best spots for your fiddle leaf fig plant are near an east-facing window, in a bright bathroom with natural light, or grouped with other humidity-loving plants to create a lovely little ecosystem. It's happiest at temperatures between 60-85°F (16-29°C).

Avoid high-traffic areas where it might get bumped or jostled, spots near heating vents or air conditioners, and any dark corners where it'll struggle.

How often should I water my fiddle leaf fig?

Water your fiddle leaf fig when the top 2-3 inches of soil feel dry to the touch—typically once weekly during spring and summer, less frequently in winter. Base your plans on checking the soil rather than following a strict schedule.

When you do water, give it a slow, thorough drink until water runs from the drainage holes. Consistency is what it appreciates most, helping prevent those dramatic responses it's known for.

Should I mist my fiddle leaf fig?

Misting your fiddle leaf fig every few days helps create the humid environment it naturally craves, bringing a bit of that rainforest feeling to your home. Use filtered or distilled water to prevent spots on its beautiful leaves.

You can also place it on a pebble tray filled with water or use a humidifier nearby—it'll appreciate any effort to increase the moisture around it.

Should I put coffee grounds in my fiddle leaf fig?

Please skip the coffee grounds for your fiddle leaf fig—they can change the soil's pH and sometimes encourage mold growth, which won't make it happy. Instead, stick with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer every 1-2 months during spring and summer.

Are fiddle leaf figs sensitive to tap water?

Fiddle leaf figs are sensitive to the chemicals commonly found in tap water, like chlorine and fluoride. Using filtered water, distilled water, or simply letting tap water sit overnight before using it can make a real difference.

What fertilizer should I use on my fiddle leaf fig?

A balanced, liquid houseplant fertilizer works wonderfully for fiddle leaf fig fertilizer needs—dilute to half strength and apply every 1-2 months during the growing season. During fall and winter, let it rest without any feeding. It's quite sensitive to over-fertilizing.

Pet-friendly?

The fiddle leaf fig isn't safe for pets, as it can cause oral irritation, drooling, and digestive upset if your curious companions decide to sample its leaves. While it's not severely toxic, it's best to keep it out of reach of both cats and dogs who might be tempted to explore.

Are fiddle leaf figs poisonous to cats?

Fiddle leaf figs can cause oral irritation, excessive drooling, and stomach upset if cats chew on the leaves. The sap can also irritate skin, so it's definitely a "look but don't touch" plant for both you and your feline friends.

Are fiddle leaf figs toxic to dogs?

Fig leaf trees can cause mouth irritation, drooling, and digestive issues if dogs nibble on the leaves, so consider keeping in a room where your dog doesn't usually spend time, or up high where those exploring noses can't reach.

Pet teething treats
Flavor Name: Chicken - Regular, Size: 3.6 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I love these!!! They are great for puppies that are constantly biting on everything. I have used it for all my dogs and never have had a dog that bites cables or shoes. And they are sturdy which I like.

Puppies love them
Flavor Name: Chicken - Regular, Size: 6 Count (Pack of 1)
Puppies love these rings. Give it to them in morning when I leave to keep them occupied for a moment while I step out the house for work so they are distracted instead of whining. Hardness is good enough for my mini bernedoodle but Goldendoodle chews it up quickly. I’m glad these are edible and dog friendly. Just as pictured l.

Tough Little Skwerls
Color: Squirrels (3-pack)
I bought these at the same time as I bought the Kyjen Hide-A-Squirel toy as I have 3 dogs and I figured at least one of the squirrels would get lost pretty quick leaving the dogs to squabble over the other two reamining squirrels. Ironically, all three of these squirrels are still present and accounted for though they are showing a bit of wear at this point. They are also covered with dog spit but as they are dog toys that is to be expected. I have 2 medium sized dogs and one huge dog. Two of the dogs play with these toys EVERY DAY and after almost 3 months they squirrels are just now starting to show noticeable wear. My dogs love to dissect their toys and remove the squeaker. If I am on the ball I find the squeaker and tie it up in a couple of pairs of old socks and return it to the dogs. This solves two problems: 1. The dogs are unable to injest the squeker and 2. I no longer feel obligated to try to find the mates to those socks. The dogs also love the squeaky sock toys and wiill still play with the squeakerless squirrel toy carcasses so this is truly a win-win situation. At this point, 2 of the 6 total squirrels I ordered are sans squeaker. Three out of the six are showing any real wear. One out of the six total looks like new, probably because it has been under the dresser for the past two months. So, these squirrels are smart as well, or at least one out of six is of above average intelligence. Well played, Kyjen, well played. These toys and the Kyjen Hide-A-Squirrel toy were all a big hit with my dogs, even with the dog that could care less about them because when I throw a squirrel for the other dogs to fetch, the dog who doesn't play with the toys chases the dogs that are running after the toy and screws with the slower dog by latching onto one of his hind legs and making him fall down. So, these toys entertain the dogs that actually play with them, the dog that couldn't care less about them, and me. That's getting the most possible bang for your buck right there! This is the first time I bought any of Kyjen's products and I would absolutely buy Kyjen products again as well as reccomend them to my dog-owning friends. These are awesome toys. Yes, the squirrels are on the small side but I was expecting that as I actually took the time to read the product description before I ordered them. My dogs do not care that the squirrels are kind of small and I don't believe that the size of the toys has any impact on their durability or function. These are awesome dog toys. If you don't get them for your dogs you are not a fun person and it's highly likely that your dog pees on you as you sleep. I sure would. I mean I would if I were your dogs. Buy the damn toys already! *HERE'S MY REVIEW OF THE KYJEN HIDE-A-SQUIRREL TOY* This review is from: Kyjen PP01056 Hide-A-Squirrel Pet Toy, Large I have 2 medium sized dogs and one giant dog and two of them love these toys. The other one likes to play with other dogs much more than she does dog toys so I'm not really surprised that she isn't that into them. The wierd dog and the giant dog LOVE these toys and play with them daily. They have taken both the squirrels and the "tree trunk" outside, played tug-of-war with them and even buried them and the toys are still looking pretty good after a couple of months of rough, frequent play. Two of the squirrels are now without their squeakers as the giant dog loves to dissect them and remove the squeakers. This isn't a problem, I actually expected he would have removed all of the squeakers by now and I bought three additional squirrels because I really expected these toys to wear out much more quickly. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well they are hanging in there. Of the six squirrels I ordered five are present and accounted for and the dogs play with all of them, even the ones giant dog has disemboweled. Yes, the squirrels are on the small side. I was not surprised by this as I took the time to read the complete product description. I don't know how well other larger dogs would like these toys, my giant dog is touched in the head but very smart and he loves them despite the size. I have never ordered Kyjen products before ordering this Hide-A-Squirrel toy and the replacement toys and I am thrilled that the toys are of such good qulaity and that my dogs are getting lots of "play" out of them. Even the one dog that doesn't like toys that much is entertained by them as she likes to chase the dogs that are playing with the toys and try to chew their legs off as they run. All my dogs are entertained and entertained dogs are dogs that are not running all over the neighborhood humping everything in sight or chewing holes in my socks. I would absolutely order Kyjen products again and I would order from this seller again. My items arrived one day before they were due and were packed appropriately. I would also reccommend both Kyjen and this seller to other dog owners and have already told my sister about these toys and how awesome they are. If I could give this product and this seller more than five stars I so would!
