During mid-fall through early winter, it produces unbranched spikes of cream flowers on 1-foot tall stems. Introduced to cultivation by plant collector Alice Waidhofer, it was initially labeled as Aloe "Japanese Hybrid" and speculated to be a cross between Aloe parvula and Aloe arborescens. Thriving in full to part-day sun and well-drained soil, it requires low water and is hardy to temperatures as low as 25°F. Ideal for container planting or as a foreground addition in gardens, it adds ornamental value, especially during fall and winter, with its compact size and attractive foliage.
