WILDERNESS TENTS ARE THE TOUGHEST AND STRONGEST TENTS AVAILABLE. Double layer of canvas on ridge. Eaves reinforced with webbing. Steel D rings on eaves instead of grommets. NO OTHER TENT HAS THIS ADDITIONAL REINFORCEMENT.

 STANDARD FEATURES

    • 5 FOOT SIDE WALLS
    •  BACK DOOR OR BACK WINDOW.
    • STOVE JACK IN ROOF. 5 1/2 " fire proof tent opening in roof to allow stove pipe to go straight up. Only single wall pipe is necessary. Front left corner in roof. Roof stove jack allows for much better draw, especially, in higher elevations. Stove jack in roof allows for easier pipe installation. No elbows and no outside pipe support required vs wall stove jack.
  • STORM FLAP. Protects zipper and closes door if you have zipper problems when camping.
  • FREE REINFORCED EAVE WITH WEBBING ENTIRE LENGTH OF EAVE.
  • STEEL D RINGS SEWN INTO EAVE WEBBING. Much stronger than grommets pressed into canvas.
  •
  • DOUBLE LAYER OF CANVAS ON RIDGE. A major wear point that is reinforced.
  • VINYL SOD CLOTH. Acts an air seal and prevents canvas from touching any rain water which will wick up the canvas wall.
  • TENT BAG. Oversized to insure your tent fits in it.
  • RIDGE OPENINGS FOR LODGE POLE. Some hunters use lodge pole pine to make a tent frame when packing in to avoid hauling a heavy metal frame on horses.
  • FRONT ZIPPERED DOOR, YKK #10. Always insure your tent has YKK zippers or you might have zipper problems when you are camping.
  • 200' OF ROPE AND 20 TENSIONERS that tightens the tent eave rope connecting to tent stakes.
FRAMES CANNOT BE RETURNED OR REFUNDED as each custom frame is made for a specific tent.
IF YOU WANT TO REDUCE THE COST OF YOUR FRAME, you can make your own frame using our tent frame angle kits and make tent frame from steel conduit available at all hardware stores.  View tent and angles for more info.

6'  SIDE WALL OPTION

6' side walls provide much more headroom and usable tent space.  6' walls allows a person to get next to a wall without hitting your head against rafters or canvas roof.

Some companies only have 4' 7" sidewalls which severely restricts how much space you can actually use.

Strongly recommend you ask your suppliers the finished height of side walls before purchasing so you will not be surprised or disappointed upon delivery.

SHIPPING BAGS for floors, fly, extended fly, porches and cook shacks options are not large enough to be used for storage bags.

Recommend you read TENT SET UP LOCATIONS before you set up your tent to avoid wind issues that can destroy your tent.

 FLY IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

Fly is a protective tarp that covers the roof, extend the life expectancy of your tent. Also, there are thousands of needle holes in your tent and occasionally a needle hole does not close when the tent is wetted down. The only way to insure your tent does not leak is to put a fly on your tent.

EVERY MONTH WE GET CALLS FROM CUSTOMERS WHO BUY A FLY AFTER USING THEIR TENT. Normally customers have spark holes in their tent roof. Or dirt, pitch and tar on their roof that won't come off. A fly is strongly recommend at the time of purchase to avoid possible roof issues. And most importantly, to increase life expectancy of your tent. Rich

FLY ADVANTAGES- SUMMARY

SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE THE LIFE OF YOUR TENT. The roof is the first part of a tent that normally fails.

Prevents stove spark burn holes in roof. It is much easier and cheaper to replace a fly, if necessary, than a tent.

Provides another moisture barrier to prevent leaks.

Protects the cotton canvas from harmful UV rays. Put a cotton shirt outside during the summer and see how UV rays destroys the cotton.

Keeps roof clean. When camping under a tree, a tree rains down dirt during rain storms.

Prevents pitch and tar getting on the roof. Removing tree pitch and tar requires a harsh detergent which destroys the roof water, mildew and fire treatment. Then you will have leaks in your roof.

Fly provides 1 foot overhang on each side of tent.  Forces water and snow 1 foot away from side wall.

Water and snow slides off fly quicker than canvas roof as the fly is completely smooth.

Provides some insulation value when there is an air gap between fly and roof.

RECOMMENDATION: ALWAYS KEEP YOUR TENT ROOF AND FLY TAUT SO WATER CAN QUICKLY BE REMOVED FROM YOUR TENT.  Water can collect on the roof in an "eave trough" which is  a low area just before the sidewall created by a not tight roof or loose fly.

Canvas should be very taut on a tent frame, especially, if set up for extended periods of time and a fly always used.  Fly should also be tight to avoid water in an eave trough.  Water will eventually go through the fly if saturated for weeks.  Canvas saturated in water will rot and mildew regardless of water mildew protection applied. There is no warranty for eave rot.

When you receive your tent, set it up, and completely wet it down. Especially on the seams, both inside and outside seams on your tent. Wetting down your tent will cause the canvas to shrink and help close the thousands of needle holes in your tents.

THE FRAME IS DESIGNED NOT TO FIT TIGHT ON YOUR FRAME TO ALLOW FOR TENT CANVAS SHRINKAGE. All tent canvas will shrink 1-3 % after it becomes wet.

If you want your tent to have a tighter tent on the frame, set your tent up and spray it down with water inside and out, especially on the seams. The seams have small needle holes which will close when sprayed with water.

If you are not concerned about a slightly loose tent, the tent will naturally shrink overtime as a result of dew and condensation.

Never have a skin tight tent on a frame. When a tent is skin tight on a frame there is tremendous pressure on the seams. Eventually the seams will loosen or tear. Same process as when a person wears extremely skin tight jeans.
TENTS ON PLATFORMS

I strongly recommend you read my recommendations regarding placing wall tents on a platform, click platforms.

I strongly recommend (click) tent frame leg supports on platforms. which are screwed onto the platform. Wood platforms are smooth surfaces compared to the ground. You don't want to have tent frame legs slide off a platform during high winds.

TESTIMONIALS
My friend bought a wilderness tent and he is very pleased with it.  He steered me to you to buy a tent, angle kit, fly and stove so I will be totally ready for hunting this Fall.  Curtis
I appreciate everything you did for me.  You helped me pick the right size of wilderness tent for my family and all the options we discussed. The wilderness tent and wilderness stove is better than I had hoped for.  Thanks again. Drew
I like your superb customer service.  Not many companies help a customer the way Canvas Tent Shop does.  The wilderness tent package is great.  Can't wait to go elk hunting.  I am extremely pleased with everything!  Lloyd
My friend loves your wilderness wall tent.  I was very impressed when he asked me over to show me his new tent.  You make a great tent the way it is reinforced, especially those D rings on the eave webbing.  I have never seen another tent like that.  Now I want a 10x12.  Bob
This is my third wilderness tent I have purchased from Canvas Tent Shop.  I take them hunting.  Now I want to buy 9 more wilderness tents for a glamping business I am starting.  I do like your tents. Harold
I received my 12x14 tent this morning from FEDEX.  Everything is excellent and exactly as specified on your website.  I am very pleased with this purchase.  I am sure I will have many vacations and hunting trips with it.  Many thanks for an excellent product and prompt service.  Leslie
Richard, I would like to thank you and Kathy for the help you provided in explaining to me all the features and options available on your wilderness tents. Before I started talking to you I was going to buy from a different company.  I am glad I changed my mind. You guys put new meaning on the words CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have had the tent set up for quite awhile now through some pretty heavy storms. Up to 50 miles an hour.  I love the wilderness tent.  Again thanks for all your help.  Jeff
I am just really happy and pleased with my wilderness canvas tent and Yukon stove. Tent and Fly kept us dry despite heavy rains during our 2 week hunting trip. Yukon stove burned hot and easily dried our clothes during the night. Thanks again. Charlie
A friend of mine bought a canvas tent package from you several years ago. I went hunting with my friend last fall and was really impressed with the whole set up. I want the the same 14 x 16 package, with wilderness 5 Deluxe stove, angle kit, cook shack and extended fly. Chris
Went elk hunting and it rained 3 inches. Not one leak. Your wilderness stove kept us warm all night. We set up a drying pole tied to the middle frame angles on our ridge just like you recommended. Boots and clothes were dry in the morning and we were ready to hunt in "dry clothes". We are totally pleased with the great wall tent and stove. Thanks again. Barry
Rich, Wanted to thank you for your great service. We have purchased 2 wall tents 12 x 14 and a 14 x 16. We couldn't be more pleased with your products. We had been making our own kitchen add on until this year in elk camp.We chose to purchase a kitchen add on tent for the bigger tent. It was the best thing we ever did. Kitchen attaches easily and made our camp more efficient. Thanks Dave
Rich, Thanks for a great tent. Will be purchasing an extended fly for it this coming year. Looking forward to doing business with you again. Your prompt service and knowledge is very much appreciated. Quality of product is excellent just like the service. Thanks again. Will send pictures later on. Harry
I love the tent. I bought your wall tent for my grandchildren for a place to hang out. Great tent. Alan
Tyler, I know my order was very complicated. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain everything in great detail to me. Made my decision on what I needed much easier. I will get many years of hunting out of this outstanding tent. Gary
Tent worked out perfectly for us. We used it during our hunting trip and had 3 days at 30-65 mph winds. The tent didn't budge. Strong canvas tent coupled with the heavy duty rebar tent stakes you guys sell saved us. We love the tent. The cut list you provided for the frame fits like a glove. Thanks again. Dale

Good DIY Pipe Legs but Powder Coat Quality Lacks
Size: side table leg, Size: side table leg
These industrial style pipe legs make building a DIY end table easy and the kit saves a trip to the hardware store. The fittings go together normally and assembly is simple. Comes individually wrapped. My main issue is the powder coating looks and feels cheap and rubs off easily. The pipes already had marks from touching each other from unboxing. If you do not mind some wear on the finish over time this is a decent purchase. The metal at the hardware store will be thicker and more durable but will cost more. I’d recommend based on ease of having a kit and it being delivered saving me a trip.

Stable, attractive, and easy to turn into a table with your choice of top
Size: side table leg
The X-shape of the table legs - constructed with solid metal flanges, T-joints, X-joints and 1-inch diameter pipes - provides a strong and sturdy base for a wood top. The legs have adjustable feet pads to prevent scratches and ensure stability. Assembly of the legs is relatively simple (the instructions are clear) but you will need your own tools to attach a top. The industrial design is especially well suited to rec room or finished basement use. I am adding a 28" diameter raw edge slab of wood from a recently felled tree as the top and it is very attractive. (Photo unavailable because after I made certain it would work I sent the slab out for drying and finishing.) If you want a custom table and have a particular piece of wood you want to use, these legs are an excellent choice.

Very nice kit: Beware it is NOT heavy duty plumbing pipe though!
Size: side table leg
I want to give this kit a high rating, but I need to address the "truth in advertising" bit since there may be an important disconnect between what you think you are getting and what actually comes in the box. Black plumbing used for shelving or table legs is part of an important niche in interior design. I like the industrial loft look myself and have a variety of glass, steel, and masonry elements in my home. This kit fits that look and provides plenty of "strength" for most domestic uses, like shelves or coffee tables. But they are NOT "industrial pipe" or "maximum durability pipe." Note the phrase "cast iron finish feet," which together with the other claims might lead you to think these are cast plumbing fittings. They are NOT! The feet and flanges feel like electrical conduit fittings, and the pipe sections are likely aluminum. They might be electrical or they might be multi-use, lightweight pipe. While all this might lead you to think that you're getting a truly retro, heavy-duty pipe kit made of black plumbing pipe, you are not. But, does it matter? Depends. I find the lighter pipe's smooth finish a nice "tone-down" from the rough plumbing look. All together, this kit provides plenty of strength for most furniture and the rustic pipe look, but with a nicer, lighter finish. To me that is a plus--this is a very nice kit and costs less that if you'd pieced it together from real plumbing parts (I priced it out to compare), and looks retro but cleaner. I knew what to expect because while I got this kit free on Vine, I had purchased a nearly identical kit from another seller last year. So, I'm giving it 5 stars for what it actually is and for the price, JUST BE AWARE THE NARRATIVE IS MISLEADING. Which is unfortunate because just like some people might want the heavier pipe, I'm betting more would be attracted to the look with a cleaner, lighter feel.
