For us, flowering continues unabated despite temperatures in the mid 20s F. Our patch has shown very slight stoloniferous tendencies, but nothing of garden concern. Our plants sailed through 11 degrees F, in winter 2022/2023.
Heliotrope contains alkaloids that are potent liver toxins. Typically heliotrope is not very palatable, but can cause problems when nibbled on in large quantities by pets.
