frameset gravel bike Colnago C68 Gravel Disc FramesetThe Colnago C68 Gravel Disc Frameset is the third and final frame in the C68 series the gravel specific expression of Colnago's modular carbon tradition, built for riders who want to go where roads stop and still ride at a pace that reflects where the frame comes from. Where the C68 Road is built for pure tarmac performance and the C68 Allroad covers light mixed surface riding, the C68 Gravel is designed for actual off road terrain: loose gravel, farm

The Colnago C68 Gravel Disc Frameset is the third and final frame in the C68 series — the gravel-specific expression of Colnago's modular carbon tradition, built for riders who want to go where roads stop and still ride at a pace that reflects where the frame comes from. Where the C68 Road is built for pure tarmac performance and the C68 Allroad covers light mixed-surface riding, the C68 Gravel is designed for actual off-road terrain: loose gravel, farm tracks, dirt roads, non-technical stony trails. The same Italian craftsmanship. A different kind of freedom.

The frame uses Colnago's modular carbon construction process — eight individual carbon parts, tubes and joints produced by an Italian supplier in Pordenone, assembled by hand at Colnago's facility in Cambiago. After bonding, each junction is finished using a technique called banding: thin carbon strips are applied manually over the joints, then filed and polished until the frame reads as a single seamless piece. This process, which Colnago has refined across decades of C-Series production, allows smaller molds and more precise control over carbon layup than a full monocoque frame would permit. Painting is done by hand using an airbrush — in Cascina — and final assembly happens back in Cambiago before shipping. No stage of this process is rushed, and no stage is outsourced outside Italy. Colnago was the first brand in cycling history to bring carbon frames to professional teams at the highest level, winning Paris-Roubaix with the legendary C40. The C68 Gravel carries that lineage into gravel riding.

The geometry is built for off-road confidence without abandoning road character. Compared to the C68 Allroad, the C68 Gravel runs a longer reach and longer wheelbase, positioning the rider in a more controlled stance when surfaces get unpredictable. The 70.5-degree head tube angle holds consistent across all five sizes — 45 through 57cm — and the chainstay length stays fixed at 425mm regardless of frame size, keeping handling character uniform as the bike scales up. Tire clearance tops out at 42mm, which Colnago describes as a deliberate choice: the C68 Gravel is built to be fast and snappy, and a wider tire section would compromise that. The carbon fork has integrated cable routing for disc brakes and full internal cable management, and the frame is engineered to accept a suspension fork for riders who want to push into more demanding terrain. Bottom bracket compatibility is T47; a braze-on front derailleur mount is present, though the frame is purpose-designed around 1x drivetrain builds.

Cockpit and Carry

The C68 Gravel is most tightly integrated with the Colnago CC.01 Wide cockpit — an all-in-one handlebar and stem system developed specifically for this frame with a pronounced flare geometry: 400mm at the hoods, 460mm at the drops. The wider drop width provides better control on rough terrain and reduces hand fatigue across long days in the saddle. Riders can also run their preferred cockpit, provided it's compatible with the internal cable routing. The included headset is an ACROS SS 1-1/4" unit with steel bearings, and the seatpost is Colnago's own carbon piece in a D-shape section with a 15mm offset. Groupset compatibility spans the full range of disc-compatible 1x systems: SRAM Red XPLR eTAP AXS, SRAM Force eTAP AXS, and Shimano GRX. Thru-axle spec is 12x100mm front, 12x142mm rear.

Built to Carry More

Colnago built practical storage into the C68 Gravel without treating it as an afterthought. Two bottle cage positions sit on the down tube, a third on the seat tube, and two rivets on the top tube allow for a frame bag attachment — a small detail that makes a meaningful difference on all-day mixed terrain routes. The C68 Gravel is available at RA Cycles in five sizes from 45cm to 57cm in two colorways: HGBK (matte black) and HGGR (green). For the rider who wants a gravel frameset with genuine Italian provenance, a construction process that has no modern equivalent in the industry, and geometry that's been designed specifically for what gravel actually asks of a bike — not just adapted from a road platform — this is the frameset Colnago built for that purpose.

Helpful, but Waterfield is better for an intro
Format: Paperback
This is basically a scholarly paragraph-by-paragraph commentary on the Timaeus. It's really good for what it is, but I don't recommend it as your first introduction to the Timaeus -- rather, I recommend Waterfield: http://www.amazon.com/Timaeus-Critias-Oxford-Worlds-Classics-ebook/dp/B006NTMD16 A problem with using Cornford as an introduction is that he comments on everything, and it's hard to figure out what the main themes are. I tried reading Cornford as an intro and gave it up, but once I'd read Waterfield I found Cornford extremely helpful both in elucidating passages further than Waterfield does, and in interpreting passages Waterfield doesn't cover. So if you're looking to learn about the Timaeus, I'd suggest Waterfield first and Cornford second (or Cornford alongside Waterfield).

Cornford's running commentary is arguably the best suited to fulfill this desire
Readers of any of Plato's works are bound to feel they might profit from various commentaries. His Timaeus, in particular, may be said to elicit such a hope because of number and intricacy of its details. Cornford's running commentary is arguably the best suited to fulfill this desire: it helps make clear the integrity of the dialogue as a whole and illumines the specific points along the way. Although this work is certainly dated, originally published in 1937, it is certainly one of the best full commentaries on the Timaeus.

Plato's view of the creation of the world
Format: Paperback
A cosmology is a narrative concerning the creation of the universe. Many ancient philosophers have written or elaborated this kind of work. The Platonic dialogue Timeus is an account of the work of the creator god (called the demiurge - or artisan) sculpting the chaotic material world in accordance with the immaterial model of the Ideas. But the text was written in a very hermetic and symbolic language, making its interpretation difficult or even impossible without the knowledge of the references and symbols used by Plato. This book is a complete translation of the text followed by a comprehensive commentary explaining in detail every passage. Francis MacDonald Cornford is one of the most important ancient philosophy scholars, and this work reveals his deep knowledge of Platonic and Greek thought. It is a must have for anyone interested in greek and Platonic philosophy.

Joy restored!
Format: Paperback
Now, to be honest, I've been a John & Stasi Eldredge reader for a long time. I love their books and their writing styles. But more than their skills with language is their transparency and candor. If you get the chance to meet them, you'll see that who they are in person is just how they portray themselves in their books. They're honest. They're kind--both with themselves and with others and they're consistently dedicated to telling the truth--no hype. No bait and switch. Now, to Defiant Joy. This is a book for those who have lost joy. This is a book for those who have been blinded to the subtle creep of disappointment and cynicism that has tragically become the filter through which they see life. Let's be honest. Life can really suck sometimes. And it's both understandable and inevitable that joy is harder and harder to find...much less experience. Stasi has lived enough life to understand that condition. She shares her own struggles and disappointments--all of which give her credibility when she invites her readers to consider seeking joy in the midst of less than joyful circumstances. "Defiant Joy" is a fitting title for those who don't want to give up yet; who don't want to give in to resignation. And that's the invitation Stasi gently offers--there is another option beside resignation, cynicism, depression and disillusionment. Joy! Who would have thought? Stasi writes like she talks. Reading her work is like sitting down with a good friend for an honest and frank conversation about what really matters. She's the kind of friend we all long to have--one who tells us what we need to hear instead of what we want to hear; one who tells us the truth, even when we've lost hope of ever finding it. You won't find any relativism or warm-fuzzy self-talk. This is not a self-help book. Stasi has suffered too much to offer simplistic answers to some of the most difficult questions. I highly recommend this book. It's on my suggested reading list for the community I lead. Stasi is one battle-experienced traveler who's offering other weary travelers hope for the journey ahead. I'll bet money you'll discover joy again.

You can experience joy!
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
What is joy? How does it compare to happiness? From where does joy come? How can we experience joy every day despite the pain and sorrow that we all experience? Stasi Eldredge writes honestly and poignantly from places of pain and sorrow in her own life - but doesn't leave us there. She leads us into hope, into beauty and into a new depth of life in God. She teaches us how to cultivate joy in really practical - and achievable - ways. I was especially struck by her walking through St. Patrick's Breastplate - an ancient prayer - and how I can turn from a place of failure and shame based on my performance to the King and His character and hide myself in Him. "I need mercy, and I know it. In that knowing comes a great gift. I turn my heart again to my kind and understanding God and confess to Him that I need mercy. His answer swamps my heart with a too-good-to-be-true reality that leads to a crumbling of hopelessness and shame. My self-loathing collapses into His love. My self-condemnation melts into His arms that welcome and soothe. I have blown it. The blowing now has become the wind of the Holy Spirit. Ruah is here. His breath shepherds my heart into my Father's, and there mercy triumphs over judgment." I encourage you to read this book. God will use it to restore your soul, to bring water to your dry and weary soul, and to help you find rest in His strong arms. You will not feel condemned, but encouraged. I found hope in its pages.
