The ThorpyFX / Lazy J “The J” is a premium analog amp emulator pedal designed to capture the complex, touch-sensitive tweed tones of the legendary Lazy J20 amplifier. Built as part of the Analog Amp Emulator Series, The J isn’t just an “amp in a box” — it’s designed to feel and respond like the real amplifier, rewarding your playing dynamics with rich, organic breakup and inspiring tonal depth.

Fitted with a high-quality transformer, The J reacts like a full-size amp and delivers authentic tweed-style character while integrating seamlessly into your existing rig. Whether you're running it into a clean amp for maximum vintage accuracy or stacking it with a slightly driven amp for something wilder, The J is a true tone multiplier for any pedalboard. A standout feature is the ability to choose between 12AX7 and 12AY7 input tube voicing, allowing you to tailor the response for dirtier or cleaner tones.

Built with Thorpy FX’s renowned attention to detail and premium components, The J responds beautifully to picking dynamics and guitar volume changes, making it equally at home as a foundation tone or pushed into rich, expressive drive.

Made in England.

Controls

Output – Sets the overall master volume of the pedal.

Normal – Controls the gain and level of the Normal channel, offering warm, full-bodied tones with classic amp-style breakup.

Bright – Controls the gain and level of the Bright channel, delivering extra sparkle, chime and cutting presence.

Tone – Shapes the overall EQ balance, allowing you to dial in darker vintage warmth or brighter articulation.

Response – A presence-style control that adjusts the high-end character and attack, adding shimmer or smoothing the top end.

Supply – Simulates power supply sag. Turn it up for tight, punchy response and maximum headroom, or roll it back for softer compression and a more vintage, spongy feel.

Great Book.
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Its great to be able to go back and read Stokely Carmichael today in his own words. This book provides an excellent overview of what black power means and how the concept originated. Although the book seems a bit dated today, many of the ideas presented are still entirely relevant. Ive only given the book four stars due to its age. Many of the statistics presented are dated, and undoubtedly there are other texts available today that present these ideas in a much better/newer way. But if you are interested in Stokely Carmichael and what he stood for, this is the book to read.

Format: Paperback
Excellent articulation of the Black Power initiative within the Civil Rights Movement. A detailed view of Black Power, it's objectives, how these would be achieved, as well as it's misinterpretations. An afterword from each author appended in 1992 provides insight, reflection, and perspective on all that's changed, and what hasn't, since the book's publishing.
