With the growth of full suspension XC bikes, hardtails were starting to stagnate. So why not seize the moment and shake up the XC with a modern and revolutionary design? Say hello to the Epic HT Expert Carbon World Cup. It's one of the lightest frames we've ever made, coming in at 1175g. To achieve this, the frame is built with FACT 10m carbon fiber, and takes cues from our road bikes, for which we've borrowed from the Rider-First Engineered™ concept that originated with the Tarmac. The frame design is now size-specific, tailoring the tube size and carbon layups to each size. With this we achieve an optimal balance between rigidity, lightness and manageability, so that each frame, regardless of its size, it works as we intend. We've also tweaked the geometry for speed and stability by lowering the head tube angle, lengthening the top tube, and correcting the seat post angle. It feels more poised this way, and frankly, it's blazing fast. We've also increased the rear spacing to 12x148mm and included internal cable routing. 

• Combining a FACT 10m carbon fiber frame with our XC 29 Geometry allows the Epic to focus on being as light as possible and keeping corners tight for explosive speed and good handling on race tracks. To top it off, we also gave it 148mm rear spacing and a new rear triangle with post-mount brakes.
