Celebrating 70 years of quality components, MKS has released this revamped version of their classic 80's platform pedal.

 

The BM-7 NEXT starts by taking the design and features of the original BM-7, and lightening up by 26 grams. In addition, the cup and cone bearings have been upgraded to MKS Triple Sealed Cartridge Bearings for premium and maintenance-free smooth rotation. Less friction means better pedaling efficiency, making these a marked improvement for long distance riders.

 

To match the upgraded performance, MKS also improved the finish as well. The high-polish chrome plated axle has a mirror finish on the axle and pedal body, while the cage plates are available in a variety of contemporary colors. The chrome plated spindle also features extremely strong anti-corrosive qualities, which improve durability to salt and water.

 

These pedals were only made in 2019 to commemorate the 70th anniversary, and are no longer in production. Each set of BM-7 NEXT is marked "70th Anniversary" on the outside, and includes a serial number card.
